Unlucky Nathan. Thought you had it for a bit.
Just heard King Hendry has knocked in a maximum. That man is an absolute genius. Forget your O’Sullivans, Hendry is the greatest player to ever pick up a cue. And its his second century of the match.
April 28, 2009 at 21:22 #224145Yeah the Cope match was slow and painful at the end, it didn’t help with him missing the snooker behind the yellow but even so Higgins was terrific to knock in those last three frames.
I gave the snooker a miss today after Cope’s exit and then watching Selby last night who I backed for the comp struggle terribly to get past Dott and it looks like I’ve missed a good days snooker with Hendrys maximum and Selby knocking in three centuries at the start of his match with Higgins.

April 30, 2009 at 11:38 #224497Mark Selby must have thought he was home and dry when taking a 12-11 lead over John Higgins. However the " Wizard of Wishaw" had other ideas. You had to admire his resilience and will to win. I doubt if there is a more astute tactician in the game than John Higgins. His safety play is quite superb.
When in this sort of mood, he is difficult to beat.

April 30, 2009 at 22:22 #224638You can see on Higgins’ face just how much he wants to win. Very rarely plays the wrong shot. I was glued to the telly to see it.
The standard of this years competition has been phenomenal!

May 1, 2009 at 11:54 #224756Have to agree with the above it has been great stuff and although Higgins has frustrated me this week in beating Cope and Selby he has played superb and it would be nice if he got his hands on the championship for a third time.

May 1, 2009 at 19:56 #224861Yip agree. Higgins is a true champ and deserves another title…he deserves a third mor ethan Murphy deserves a second…if that makes sense. Nothing against Allen or Robertson either but think Higgins would be a popular winner. Always strikes me as a nice bloke too!
May 3, 2009 at 21:21 #225396For what its worth, the draw is lopsided so each way on Shaun Murphy carries some appeal although I wont be betting until after 1st round.
I hope some of you took my advice as like a divvy I ignored it!!!

I was already on, douginho, though had my stake significantly reduced by the blind faith I placed in the enigma that is Ronnie O’Sullivan.
I was tempted to re-invest some of my Pacquiao winnings on a Higgins victory, just to be safe, but thought better of it in the end
May 4, 2009 at 13:53 #225548Its not over yet Equitrack although it has to be said Higgins doesn’t look like failing! He is simply too good for Murphy safety wise.
May 4, 2009 at 17:47 #225595Higgins would be a worthy winner – especially for his all round play and the added fact that he supports Celtic. Good enough for me.
