Jonjo O’Neill confirmed sadly Sky Pirate is no longer with us, when he was pulled up at Sandown end last season, he had suffered fatal injury broke his back

September 6, 2022 at 13:55 #1613535True, it’s bad to see his name up here, but I think Jonjo jr. should have pulled him up immediately after both hind legs hit the bottom part of the open ditch. Instead he asked him to jump the water as well before finally pulling him up. Maybe the damage could have been limited, who knows. His chance had gone anyway with that terrible jump which almost forced him to a complete stand still.
He was a decent horse who still had a few good handicaps in him.May he rest in peace.
