I”m already thinking hard about this race but wanted to see how I”m a legend ran before committing myself as Fistral Beach beat him well last week and he is 6/1fav for this race. I”m thinking Calgary Bay for this as his form is way ahead of the favourites and as the fav climbs the ladder,Calgarys sliding down it.There is noticed formlines through Le Burf,Nacarat and Mount Oscar that are making Calgary bay a 24lb better horse than Fistral Beach and yet they are set to carry almost identical weights, i think Calgary Bay at 14/1 is very nice price,e/w of course.

I like the profile: three wins around this time of year, not won since 2009, and highest speed figure just over two years ago, as a six-year old (second to Panjo Bere in a Grade 2).

I think chasers are said to normally peak at around nine years old.

I’m spoilt this Saturday. First Tidal Bay, then another of my favourites, Calgary Bay.

I backed him at 33/1 last time out and have taken the 10/1 for this race. Three miles around Donny is ideal for him, in my opinion, and he should reach a place.

I can’t belive the price of King Fontaine (14/1). Destroyed a couple of decent performers last time out and is improving at a rate of knots. I certainly think he’s better than his current mark.

Those two will do for me.

I’m torn between Take The Breeze and King Fontaine. Even with top weight the former looks good enough and his claimer is a good enough jockey, the latter looks like he’ll confirm form with Wogan at revised weights and if he jumps better will be there at the finish. I’m gonna back both each-way at 16’s and 14’s.

I like Calgary Bay too but I can’t have him, as much as I like him they’re thinking about the national and I don’t think we’ll see his true ability.

Jumping on the Calgary Bay bandwagon, I just think that he’s in a pretty good place weights wise, and the course does suit him, and his fourth at Cheltenham indicated, to me at least, that he may have wanted further than what he got there.

May I also suggest I’moncloudnine? I know I keep saying this, but here’s a horse who has at least one big handicap in him. He’s not been given anything for his Welsh National third, so he’s definitely one to look out for. That said, I’m thinking the trip may not quite be as long as he’d like. Still, I think he’s got what it takes, with a bit of luck.

Though I’ve had a little on Calgary Bay, I can’t see past Blazing Bailey.

I had a little on Door Boy earlier, but he’s still available at 18s, and on a line through Little Josh, should carry about 27 lbs more. He also cost the Wylies £185,000.

Ben Linfoot has written him up on the Sporting Life site.

Had a few quid earlier in the week on Khachaturian, and happy to stick with him. Been a big fan of the horse for a while now, and reckon they’ve been holding a little back with him. There was plenty to like about his run in The Kim Muir, albeit, he did get a bit low at his fences at times. If they’ve sorted out his tendency to hit a few, he must go close.

Glad I took the price, as he appears to be getting shortened, I can only assume Pricewise has something to do with it. Either that, or it’s down to my favourable comments regarding him over the last few weeks! :?

Biggest worry for me is King Fontaine, going the right way, and looks a decent price, could see him chasing Khach home.

    GL all.
