I see this beast is entered at Ascot tomorrow.
I cannot see why he being allowed near a racecourse without having to take a stalls test.
On at least his last two intended racecourse appearance he has refused to enter the stalls, the latest being yesterday at Newmarket where his antics held up fourteen other runners before the starter lost patience.
I recall seeing him do something similar at Kempton a few weeks ago as well.
Rule 28 (xiv) states a horse that fails to enter the stalls cannot run again until it has passed a stalls test.
Why therefore has Sir Edwin Landseer not been withdrawn from tomorrows race?

Cant’t have done.
Having refused to enter on Thursday afternoon the absolute earliest a test could be done would be this afternoon.
A horse cannot run the same day it is tested.

Withdrawn by whom? I would have thought quite rightly any outstanding entries would stand or else compensation would be due for entries, travel etc. It was quite entertaining watching the horse perform anyway, he knew which way he was going even with the blindfold on

Withdrawn by the stewards.
As for compensation, why should any compensation be paid? If a horse cannot be properly trained to enter the stalls then tough. It is not as if this is the first time this has happened with this particular horse.
Would you think it so entertaining if you owned one of the horses who had been one of the first to load? Or if you had backed a horse that was then disadvantaged by having a long wait in the stalls?
In this case the animal didn’t even get close to going in, however how many times in the past have horses already in the stalls been upset and disadvantaged by the antics of recalcitrant runners.
I accept there is always going to be the odd little sod but serial offenders should face lengthy bans and I would also suggest they should have to face two or three stalls tests before being allowed to compete again.
