I have seen Sir Clement Freud mentioned on the forum several times and on Racing Journalist of The Year, Three For Dinner threads.
It just goes to show that you just never know what people are really like.
The documentary airs tonight at 11.05 on ITV
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

June 15, 2016 at 10:51 #1251538I think he was one of my ‘Three For Dinner’ Steve!
God only knows what was going on in The Liberal Party back in the 70s.

Fallen heroes hey-ho
June 15, 2016 at 11:03 #1251543Heartbreaking – I loved Freud’s racing columns his contributions to Just A Minute.
The world just gets scarier and scarier.

June 15, 2016 at 12:39 #1251560Apparently he shared an office with Cyril Smith back in the day. He also used to boast that he was the first person to book the entertainer Rolf Harris.
An abuse charity said that Freud had been on their “Radar” and that they expected that more women might come forward.
I also read that Freud’s wife had an affair with Will Self’s brother, when she was 47 and he was 16.
Unsettling reading.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

June 18, 2016 at 23:16 #1252374Used to watch him on countdown and always thought there was something a bit weird about him.
Gyles Brandreth who knew him well from their just a minute days, said there was something about him you couldn’t really connect with and he’d always hold something back.
