Although I am totally supportive
of the ability to lay horses on
exchanges and use this facility regularly.
I find it a tad wearisome and worrisome
to see people formulating laying systems.
Layman etc. in the past.
To me it’s fine as a private study
but to poblicise it openly seems
contra the spirit of this place
and gives the wrong message.Although I am seen as a liberal
on here, I never bathe naked and
dont expect to see others doing it.January 4, 2010 at 01:14 #267528Surely if people feel it is beneficial to them to share their workings and are not in any way spamming or causing a nuisance, there is no harm in publishing their thoughts?
I agree with you in some ways but overall, i feel forums such as this are designed to cater to anyone interested in the sport we all love. The fact we all disagree so much is what makes it fun.
If your not interested – just ignore.
Well thats my attitude anyway!
January 4, 2010 at 01:30 #267531I will gladly share my short-priced lays to anyone who wants almost certain winners.

Until that "almost" is removed from your above sentence I’ll stick to my own gambling methods!
January 4, 2010 at 15:45 #267613If people want a pat on the back
snd feel the desperate need
to wash their dirty systems
in public, at least turn
the place into a private bath house,
so all the naked backslapping
is not exposed to public view.Cormack that’s one for you to consider.
January 4, 2010 at 18:50 #267655You are normally the purveyor of sweet succulent greengages Gamble, but this decade it would appear you have little other than bitter hard sloes for sale: okay when steeped in gin but unpleasant otherwise.
It may be cold outside and the muddy green may be a hard white but this January – like all others before – sees the clouds of an old tired year lifted and the droning Drone buzzes with wide-eyed expectation
The peace-of-mind bell curve climbs rapidly to its zenith just before the last knockings of the first quartile: then swat
Yours not it seems
Heck even odds, tables, chances and tissues raise a smile as I watch Gingermark ploughing his long but perfectly ridged furrow over and off the edge of the world, leaving the confused and hysterical buried beneath his mole-board
As for systems: backandlay I do not understand why anyone wishes to publicise them if they believe they have merit; logic suggests success in that field necessitates the utmost privacy, for my eyes only
Dirty or clean, pats and backslaps are what many who inhabit message-boards crave
Preferably from behind a cloak of anonymity, perversely
Lay lay, play play, pay pay
January 4, 2010 at 19:22 #267663good one Drone , it seems those eggs Gamble came across in London were scrambled a bit too much ….still we all plough on , as for Ginger and the system , it did take some time for me to appreciate him , but I do now , he gives his wisdom freely and trys to help , albeit guys like me are left way behind in the mists of the algebra involved
Gamble I hope you reply in spades !!!!

signifies hibernation
I have made my point and will
not labour it and as I seem to
have the perverse view
and my rant has disturbed
but a few leaves on a largely
sleeping forum I will take Ricky’s
advice and use my spade
and quickly bury this6000 men went to mow
went to mow a meadow.

Should races be discussed at all in public? The posters on here who rarely, if ever, discuss the nuts and bolts of ‘who’s gonna win’ ‘I gotta horse’ are notable doncha agree?
Your posts have always had a little of the darkside about them but until recently the darkness was that of a rich plain Belgian chocolate accompanied by an Italian espresso.
Has your puce flock wallpaper been covered with matt-black emulsion perchance?
Or were you gifted a little Black Dog for Christmas?
You sleep well old sheep
This forum doesn’t slumber but is prone to spluttering snores from time to time
January 6, 2010 at 23:02 #268361I appreciate you being my crutch in
this rather unthought out area
of laying systems.I have absolutely no problem
about discussions about winners
or even suggestions that a horse
may under achieve for whatever reasons,
but to come up with a method for
finding losers should only be done in private
or on a private forum in my opinion,
as it negates the spirit of racing horses
which is to try to win.I received a small number of cards at Xmas
and I placed the better ones,
in order of my favouritism,
in a systematic row on the window sill.
( never done this before
and rarely look much at them )The winner was a flat white landscape
with a path edged by bare trees and with
discreet coloured lights placed in the branches.
The path was wide at the front and narrowed
into the distance. Glitter formed under the trees
which to me took on the appearance of ice.The words were
Wishing you a wonderful Christmas
etched in the snow.By all accounts I am in dire
need of a holiday -
