We remember that Landafar..some of us here were on Yahoo’s rubbish horse racing section and a guy called Tommy2cans did exactly that…
The comp was run by Des and we moved over to TRF to avoid the Trolls on Yahoo who were spoiling our competition

Hi Jac, it was an evening newspaper in Northants, with around 165 entries. I think initially it was for pubs, clubs etc. Only one selection allowed each week and in the early days one had to phone it through.
All entries paid a fee and prizes paid down to 15th with the winner collecting a 4 figure sum. To add spice to it, the bottom 15 were relegated and replaced by those who were lucky enough to qualify via a draw.
Not sure if any others here would have entered, but one never knows.
I passed the baton for my local club to a mate who managed to get us relegated at the first attempt..

Not sure if its still running after all these years and since Towcester shut to horse racing, there’s no articles these days.
