I doubt anyone will remember him. He was a hopeless racehorse! However, given the awful recent losses, this post from his owners is a reminder that even some of the lowest rated can enjoy happy retirements and bring joy to those who love them. R.I.P. Ben
Scots Guard (IRE) aka Ben. 30/3/2001 – 21/5/2024. This boy sadly crossed rainbow bridge today. His poor old body couldn’t cope any longer so we decided it was only fair to help him on his way. He was a slow racehorse but much loved family pet. We will all miss him dreadfully but take comfort that he’s not in pain any more. RIP Ben also know as Big Dog or Mr Meccano. He lived with us for 15 years and taught us all so much. Picture taken yesterday evening whilst he was having his favourite white chocolate chip cookies. 😢💔🐎
