I thought it was 30% – I’m sure that the Tote pay 20% commission to bookmakers for bets taken online or via terminals in the shops – i.e 40p of every £2 line.

You are right AP- 397,275 was bet today of which 278,093 is carried forward, 70%
I think the confusion comes where there’s previously carried-forward money in the win pool, which already has the deduction applied.

Judging by the provisional races for this Saturday, it’ll be impossible again- all 6 are handicaps, with large entries:
    2:20 Wby
    2:50 Wby
    3:00 Donc
    3:10 Sand
    3:45 Sand
and one of either 2:30 or 3:35 Donc.

Well called carvills, impossible is the word I would use having looked through 4 of the 6 Scoop 6 cards so far.

Well, its been won by one punter. Or no sorry, there has been one winning line by a syndicate that staked a perm costing £18,900 by all accounts. I had no idea the syndicates put in such obscene amounts of money. Even 5 syndicates playing to similar levels brings in £100k to the pooled fund. Pity the poor bloke who was at doncaster and had a £2 line with 5 winners and a second. Oh how I would have loved him to be the winner over the syndicate!

Nevy Nevy think about doing this bet
unless you have completed military service
or can stand a full bally tub of freezing water
or are prepared for the shakes
    and a miserably tainted life
and those spine chilling recurring ‘mares
that would even put the tingler out of business…

a cold night five years from now
a tinny alarm clock the only other
face in the room – 10 to 2 now
    and about the time

    the others

    left
    the house screaming
four years and four months ago

    hit 4 out
    – sweat –
    driven to challenge
    when mistake 2 out
    – scratch –
swayed on under pressure to take
second -sweating – second – sweating – second – sweating

    Saturday’s fiendish puzzle
    Leg 1 Ascot 1.40pm
    Leg 2 Haydock 1.55pm
    Leg 3 Uttoxeter 2.20pm
    Leg 4 Uttoxeter 2.50pm
    Leg 5 Haydock 3.25pm
    Leg 6 Wincanton 3.40pm

4 different tracks, the only surprise is that they allowed the 6 runner handicap chase (2.50 Uttox) to sneak through the net… a glimmer of hope for us optimists?

Good luck with Leg 6 as well – only nine runners, but most of them don’t have ‘form’, just lists of races in which they made up the numbers.

I’ve decided to pass. I couldn’t find a banker, even in the likely 5 runner race- Tidal Fury and Kingham would both have to go in, the other legs are ripe for shocks. I reckon it’ll be won tomorrow but it’s not worth facing the ire of the missus to be involved tomorrow, given the day that’s in it…..

I think it looks like a big perm for us ~ we only do bankers in Leg 6 for mathematical/hedging reasons.

I thought I’d done the hard work in finding Serabad, but Coe’s quickly put an end to the Scoop6 dream. I wonder how Nevison and Findlay have fared with 16/1 and 18/1 winners in the first two legs.
