Euro got it spot on…….Finnian’s Rainbow isn’t 9/2 with Corals now and Bet365 went the same price and those lasted noi time at all.
He’s also been cut by 3 other big firms to 7/2 so you can all say ta ta to the 9/2.
4/1 is still ok for the banker of the meeting though

Medermit stormed up the hill a couple of years ago to almost catch Go Native in the Supreme Novices. He’ll never go away from them, because he idles in front.
The 7/1 has gone, best now 13/2 with only boylesports.
Keep going you’ll convince yourself yet
He stormed up the hill did he. He did show a bit of toe to run past Copper Blue and Cousin Vinny but Somersby lost very little if any ground on him….None of them lost ground on Go Native who was stopping.
You should concentrate on the fact he’s ran 5 times at the track and failed every time to get his head in front.
He wasn’t far behind Khyber Kim as you mentioned but that wasn’t at the Festival. When he ran in the Champion Hurdle he couldn’t go the pace and Khyber Kim finished miles ahead of him.
Alan King was right..you have to get the trip in the Arkle, but he forgot to add “at a rate of knots much faster than Medemit travels at…he is forever coming under pressure a long way from home and the minute you do that in an Arkle your tea’s out and there’s buns in the oven. Call horses don’t wait around for you I’m afraid.
Irrespective of Hell’s Bay being a better horse over 2m 5f as he is over 2m1f Finian’s Rainbow had no more than an excercise canter to beat him. It was his first ever run over fences and he’s beaten him by 12 very long lengths and your fellow was outgunned by him up the very same hill you reckon he flies up.
Finian’s Rainbow himself was beaten at the track behind Peddlar’s Cross but apart from catching a kick early doors when Ruby fell he was a big immature baby playing a game better suited to a potential Champion Hurdler than a future King George winner.
Chasing is the name of the game and there simply isn’t a better prospect around and come March you will stand back in awe and go WoW!!!! this horse is the business and is so fast your fellow won’t see the way he went……..2nd best chance my giddy aunt
February 7, 2011 at 09:09 #339329Medermit has little chance in the Arkle.IN my view he has not been campaigned with Cheltenham in mind, "Any race at Cheltenham".
Saying that, its expected that he takes in a run there. The pressure to run there is ridiculous at times.
If the ground came up very soft or heavy you would have to say that would improve his chances a touch.

Not when some of us put him up at 25/1 6 months ago
I’d still back him at 4/1 though.

I wish to hell I had. I’m well happy with the odds I did get and you have to look on the bright side… Ginge has taken months to find the value and he ended up picking the wrong horse
February 7, 2011 at 20:02 #339409Fist,
Medermit’s placed hurdle form at Cheltenham is over a stone better than Finian Rainbow’s hurdle form. There weren’t many hurdlers better than Medermit. You seem to be under the illusion that winning form is automatically better than placed form.
I don’t bet ante-post if I think there is a good chance a horse going for a different race. I don’t bet until I know he’s a good jumper. Before Saturday I considered Medermit no value. Despite Medermit being a bigger price, considering it was 50/50 what race he’d run in and had not shown good enough form.
I’ve got many ante-post bets for Cheltenham, including Cue Card @ 16/1 and Grande Crus @ 20/1.
I haven’t done too bad.
Medermit now best price 11/2 (advised 10/1 just 3 days ago).
