Wondered where the horse went mid race?….did it fall.

    Great solid horse for connections

Broken from the fall or before take off? Very sad! I liked this horse – was a more lower class version of Exotic Dancer with his great effort and his record of getting placed (albeit at bigger odds than ED) but not being quite good enough to win one. RIP

    Awful news.

A horse who was under-rated and a gutsy horse as well.

    Very sad news.

    RIP.

That was awful. What a terrible loss of a great horse.
YOu may have been confused abuot wher he fell because Jim McGrath called For Pady Schindlers Hunt for a few furlongs after he’d fallen until it dwned on him he’d got the wrong horse.

The whole of Aintree I’ve been watching through gritted teeth today because it’s just been carnage.

Thought his jumping was uncharacteristically bad in his previous run but memories of his fine effort at Aintree last season made me want to give him another go.
Fine participant in high quality chases for a while.
    Sad day.

I agree I am dreading it, I don’t think I can bring myself to watch the National.

Poor Schindlers Hunt, I really liked him as he always tried. RIP.x

I’m absolutely dreading it. I have a really bad feeling especially about Dream Alliance who was featured on the BBC news today. I think bank to other horses who were featured before it such as Dark Ivy or McKelvey who was followed by the One Show.

Have just seen the replay of Schindlers Hunt on RUK looks horrible on the head on, seemed to walk through the fence. Very sad for a really game little horse who always tried his best, but who didn’t look himself at Cheltenham.

Slightly off topic, but when are the BBC going to get rid of Jim McGrath? He makes more mistakes in one race than Des Scahill in a week, and that takes some doing. There are so many good commentators out there, why do they stick with him.

If Dream wins tomorrow it will be one of the greatest stories in the history of the race. Lets all just will him home, even those of us watching the race through our fingers. I’ve had an embarrassing amount of bets on the race, but all I want now is for the horses to come home safe, and this one in particular.

Rich-ie, I’ve just been sitting here working out my bets for tomorrow, with the TV on in the next room and my immediate thought on hearing the Dream Alliance story in the background was "oh s**t" i wish they hadn’t done that……..

I was particularly sad to hear of Schindlers Hunt’s death. I’ve followed him years, always just that bit short of top class, but always trying to make up for it with sheer guts, always trying his heart out. My condolences to his connections

Yes, a real shame and loss of a truly gutsy horse – condolences to all concerned

A real shame, but if we have train and run horses these things will happen. While I am a racing fan it sometimes makes you think about it and not just steeplechasers.
