Jim
You are letting personal issues get in the way of a discussion about the future of TRF
personally i do not care who owns/runs it,as long as the excellent debates carry on, if Ian Davies or anyone else has ideas how to improve the forum then good for them imhaho
July 16, 2006 at 17:03 #96254Point taken Empty but I’m not letting personal issues get in the way, he already has a forum so he doesn’t need another one, all he wants is the member base, at the end of the day we’ll see what LRM has to say when she returns my email. :)
July 16, 2006 at 17:16 #96255Jim
I may be wrong here, but to my knowledge Ian doesn’t own any forums, he is connected to PP via having his website forum hosted there, but someone else (oddsagainst i believe) actually owns it
Don’t all poster with links to their websites etc want the userbase of TRF too?
As you say it’s up to LRM what happens and as Jaslang and others have stated i hope she gets the going rate for TRF tbh

July 16, 2006 at 17:21 #96256EC, come on you know I can’t tell all of what’s gone on in the past, and if I wanted TRF I think LRM would be more than happy to hand it over to me, I could however start my own forum, anyone can to be honest it’s quite easy, I honestly couldn’t handle TRF on my own but my mate could (he’s slightly interested at the moment) with help from selected members, however we will have to wait and see what LRM wants as that’s all that matters.
I’m off out in a few minutes to my mates and I will discuss it with him then.
ps. I cannot understand why a banned member can have his posts posted on here by someone else so it’s clear the forum need someone to sort that out. ;)

I think it is good that an interested party (even a banned one) is having his/her intentions posted by another member
July 16, 2006 at 17:31 #96258EC, I agree with what you are saying as I too wish we didn’t have to go through all of this and that Craig was still with us, if LRM comes on here and tells me to shut up then I will, I’d like to believe I’ve made a good friend in LRM over the years as I did with Craig and she will know what I’m on about without going into detail, I will also add that I do dislike Davies but then I have reasons to dislike him but won’t say because it’s something I’ll be dealing with all in good time.
ps. good points by TDK on his latest post except that father Christmas would only be around once a year….
Or maybe even allow him to use someones membership details

year….

The above says it for me Jim, as stated personal issues
I don’t give a toss whether you or anyone else likes or loves a person, if that person is intersted in keeping the board going as is and has ideas on maybe improving it, he can have it for all i care
July 16, 2006 at 17:42 #96261EC, just read the part where you say I’m out of the woodwork,
I admit I haven’t posted much on here but I feel I had no reason too, I’m not into politics of racing but respect the others that do, I just have a look on certain threads and stay out of them unless there’s something I feel I have to say, I was welcomed over on the final furlong when I feel there are less politics so it suited me more but I have since left them and told them so because of Davies, and even though I have good friends over there I won’t be back, Davies tried to ridicule me when he posted a message out of the blue on my website under the username "guest" normally he splatters his real name everywhere so he clearly didn’t want to be recognised, however I did an IP search and it pointed to him, I posted all the details on TRF for all to see but didn’t get any backing from the admin there so felt it was time to leave, anyway we’ll see what happens in the future and if LRM sells to him then fine but I’ll not be around, not that I’ll be missed but that’ll never bother me, I’m happy strolling along with my own website and one day I may even give up all this forum nonsense ;)
July 16, 2006 at 17:51 #96262EC, I have to agree again life is too short and I wish I could tell you the whole story of what has gone on on here especially in the chatroom days when TRF was at it’s peak, however as you say life is too short so to hell with it all whatever is done is done, I don’t have to be a part of it.
I was always outspoken in the chatroom in those days where many kept things to themselves but let me know via the pm fascility in the chatroom so I know there were more that sided with me on what went on, they just didn’t have the balls to say it like I did.
anyway ****
this I’m outta here before I really spill the beans.
have fun and I appologise to everyone that thinks I’m out of order.
Correct TDK
It is the membership that make a forum, not it’s owner
July 16, 2006 at 17:53 #96264Good to see that this thread is not being diverted at all.
I can’t help out on technology stuff at all, but would pay a contribution to help out anyone who was running the site. I only ever really look at this section of the site too if it was to be reduced.
I’m sure LRM will make whatever decision she pleases and I wish her all the best for the future.
July 16, 2006 at 18:36 #96265Its just good to see that offers are in the air…
But if ID buys it, is he still banned? :o
ID , good to hear from you via Doris Stokes anyway
July 16, 2006 at 18:58 #96266I for one, hopes that TRF continues in its present format and there is only one point I want to make ..
LRM – you should sell this forum to the highest bidder and make sure you get something out of it for yourself and your family.
Good Luck to you what ever you decide to do .. !!
July 16, 2006 at 19:00 #96267I’m afraid that is does matter who owns the forum.
LRM does not want the forum to end as it is not what Craig would have wanted. Equally, he would not have wanted, given the grief and nuisance caused (very deliberately) by Ian Davies to Craig and LRM, for Ian Davies to then own the forum. The fact that he once suggested that Ian buy his beloved forum shows the sheer frustration that his self-publicising antics caused.
The cheek and insensitivity of the man is awe-inspiring.
Leave the future of the forum to the forumites – many of whom are capable of financially and intelligently taken over the burden without relying on someone who Craig expressly wished would leave here and never return.
July 16, 2006 at 19:10 #96268Well theres been a bit of silly abuse on here lately ID. …
ID… ( are you using Ouija Board tony?) Whatever the past issues (which i am not aware of) i thought the fourm was definately stronger with your contribution. Bit more humour too and discussions were nicely expanded into wider issues…
July 16, 2006 at 19:11 #96269Jim, I have no wish to get involved in an argument with you, because we have always got on very well, but you didn’t get any backing, because you started the thread on FF about Ian Davies.
Whatever Ian Davies posted about you, he didn’t post it on FF, he posted it on your own forum, which is why I decided it had nothing to do with us and tried to steer clear of it.
I know you didn’t agree with that, and I’m sorry you decided to leave, but I can’t go banning people for what they post on other forums.
It’s not the done thing.
