Last year out of the Hennessy after having had an incredible workout. This year out of the KG after flying at home.

If you have nothing meaningful to say, just shut up, please.

Coneygree camp plot revenge over Cue Card

    By Bruce Jackson 8:00AM 13 DEC 2016
CONEYGREE is angry and hungry for revenge over his Haydock conqueror Cue Card was the message from his corner ahead of the 32Red King George VI Chase on Boxing Day, according to connections of the 2015 Gold Cup winner.

Sara Bradstock, wife of trainer Mark Bradstock and who rides out Coneygree twice a day, reported that he was ready to serve it up to his Betfair Chase conqueror Cue Card in what could be racing’s equivalent of last weekend’s Dillian Whyte and Dereck Chisora boxing classic.

Bradstock had earlier dismissed Cue Card’s stablemate Thistlecrack as another potential knockout opponent pointing to his novicey jumping as an Achilles’ heel.

“I can honestly say I am very frightened of Cue Card but not Thistlecrack,” Bradstock said. “Watching Thistlecrack in his races he is getting to the other side of his fences but he is in the air not jumping them at pace.

“It is a tall order to go Coneygree pace and it will take him out of his jumping comfort zone not his galloping zone.”

Asked how Coneygree was in preparation for the rematch, Bradstock said: “He has come out of Haydock a little angrier and wanting it a bit more. I want people to believe he is the greatest.

“I always thought with the £1 million bonus that Haydock was the difficult place where he could get beaten as they quicken into the home straight.

“Coneygree was extraordinary after the race. You expected him to be tired but he was wound up. He stopped blowing quickly and he wanted to go again.

“There is plenty of improvement in him and he didn’t really get up to full speed at Haydock.

“I think Kempton is perfect for him – he can keep serving it up to Cue Card and the only way we can beat Cue Card is to get him working to get to us not cruising up to us.

“I want to see him having to race and be pushed along before he gets to us and would then be hopeful we can win the battle.”

Do you want to know how the horse is going or not Ruby?
    Things can change very quickly.
Got to read between the lines anyway. Coneygree came from nowhere to win the Gold Cup for this small yard. Therefore, connections are going to think the horse is capable of anything, doesn’t mean we should believe it.

Look at the horse’s history and you’ll also see he’s hard to keep sound.

You’re absolutely right GT. And even though I’m only interested in a Thistlecrack vs. Cue Card KG, I’m always annoyed about such interviews which do the punters no good. I’m not even sure that he might come back this season at all, since he is so difficult to keep sound.

They are just trying to sell us how good he still might be or how good they want him to be. But i doubt that he will ever be GC material again.

So answer this ruby, have you ever felt great on a Monday only to become sick by the end of the week? Happens me quite regularly and I’m sure it happens to animals too. Perhaps on Monday or Tuesday when she was asked, coneygree was in great form but picked up a bug over the last few days, and worked badly yesterday. Its not an unreasonable thing to have happen.

It happens to Coneygree everytime after she tells us how great he is. Why not keeping her mouth shut until the horse goes to post?

And if you become sick that regularly, then you should see proper doctor and not wasting your time on this forum.

I’ve done the same in the past, Nathan, but it’s happened twice in this thread.

Sorry Ginge, might have done it once in this thread as well.

I wondered that; what on Earth is going on here, are we no longer allowed to post anything that does not agree with the powers that be?

It’s clearly a mistake Purwell, as you must obviously know, as it’s already been explained what’s happened, hours before your post…………..how did you manage to miss those comments? Strange.

Or alternatively, you are right, and it was the “powers that be” reporting posts to themselves. Yeah, that makes perfect sense.

    Happy retirement Coneygree!!!

And once again stop talking crap Sara Bradstock!!!!
What did Thistlecrack beat? The past 3 winners of the KG and last years Feltham winner with ease!!!

Your horse, as nice as he might be, will have a nice retirement and would never have had the legs and constitution to match the likes of Thistlecrack or Cue Card. Thistlecrack will be open to further improvement and Cue Card will go to the Ryanair with a live chance, please admit that.

Not retired yet, Ruby though Sara says touch and go for the Gold Cup. Crazy decision to bring the horse back for a balls-out race with Cue Card in desperate ground. They both go on and on about how precious he is and then go and do something like that – madness.

    I agree totally.
I think that they also realise that with hindsight, and think that they are trying to cover their mistake by “gobbing off” in public. I think that they are bordering on total disrespect for both Cue Card and Thistlecrack. I too think that it would be better if she could keep her own counsel.

Out of the Gold Cup now, which was quite obvious. But still dreaming of going to Punchestown and winning the Irish equivalent and then even considering a crack at the French Champion Hurdle. All that with a horse that is only walking at the moment.

I’m starting to think there is more chance of Shergar being seen on a racecourse again….!
