Some cracking racing at Leopardstown and Sandown tonight, and wanted to know what you thought of the cards.

At Sandown, I’m going for Star Rover to overturn Monsieur Chevalier. Always been giving weight away to good horses, and today he’s back on a a level playing field. I think he’s one of the best juveniles seen out this season and we all be talking about him if he hadn’t been giving weight away, as he’d have won by distances.

As Zarkava’s been raving so much about him, might have a small e.w on Viper, but i expect Patkai to win this. Lethal turn of foot for a stayer, and that will be what wins him this. Geordieland is a good horse, but will need run, doesn’t really find a lot. Fulin looks outclassed, and Tastahil is the biggest danger out of those, but may not stay.

Then I’m taking Pipedreamer to win the Bridger Gerrard, because he has had a run against a Group 1 class horse (Tartan Bearer) and is better off with Campanologist on their York meeting, because Campanologist doesn’t get weight – for – age allowance. Conduit is a class act, but needs further, and they’ll l have to go a suicidal pace for him to get a tow in, and he’s got to give 7lbs of weight away to proven group horses. He might be a place lay. Cime De Triomphe needs ti impove, and so does Staying On and Stotsfold.

Border Patrol in the listed race, because Racketeer’s handicap form is not working out well and he had bottom weight that day. Ashram + Spring Of Fame form problems, and switch from old stable isn’t working out. The once raced maiden winner was winning a weaker division than Border Patrol, and the rest aren’t good enough. Infact, with 4 opponents proven a listed or better, Racketeer might be a place lay.

At Leopardstown, Clashnacree is the stand out bet in the Maiden (5.50), with a good run under his belt. Reggae Dancer is a half-brother to Tournedos, who won the Molcomb and was second in both the Windsor Castle and the Flying Childers during an exceptionally busy juvenile campaign in 2004, but will surely need the run. Then there’s Perfect Symmetry, whose form is strong but still need to improve her efforts on his 1st time run. There’s Cemetery Lane, who could well be an e/w bet at 25’s will like step up in trip and the winner of her went on to win a listed race next time, and Rockin N Reeelin has some strong form, so small e/w dabbles recommended on the pair.

In the maiden 2nd division, Alfred Nobel is a bit short but should win this. Holds all experienced runners on form and will like the step up in trip. Can’t believe the prices of some of the runner though, Bobbysocttt at ‘s, same for Monteccuio, but Rosa Musicosa is suggested as an e/w bet here.

In the 1m maiden, Smart Miler looks value for a win bet. He didn’t stay, the 10f on his seasonal debut, and he should be better for that experience( didn’t settle well at all) , and when finishing third behind subsequent Group 3 winner and Oaks candidate Beauty O’Gwaun over 7f at the Curragh he split two colts who have shown a good standard of form, The Bull Hayes and Johann Zoffany. Iron Man is a lay, beat only 2 home last time, will need the run here. Hideaway Girl should hold Spinning Well on form, even though she has’nt improved a lot.

At odds – on, Aldni isn’t a bet, but surely he’ll win here if well. An e/w bet may be Hindu Kush, weighted to finish about 3 lengths closer, and Donegal, already a winner at this level. The Bethchworth Kid needs cut in the ground.

    Best Bets:
2 pts e/w Star Rover 6.35 Sandown (National Stakes)
2 pts win Pipdreamer 7.15 Sandown (Bridger Gerrard)
2 pts win Border Patrol 8.15 Sandown (Upton Stakes)
2 pts win Clashnacree 5.50 Leopardstown
    1 pt e/w Rosie Musica 6.20 Leopardstown
1 pt win Smart Miler 6.55 Leopardstown

Tordihe also looks like a bet.
