A J McNamara was supposed to be up on this but Sam was put up. AJ must have been injured or something. Anyway, of the 4 days at the Lep this was the ride of the 28 races. Absolutely TOP TOP NOTCH. Did anybody see it? I was there and had him backed. He was going grand throughout and I was well happy. Then he took the lead at the final bend. I said to meself "Oohhhhhh, ah dunno about this – ders a good bit to go yet." Well he battled and he battled and he battled. They were coming at him left, right and centre and it really looked like he wud be passed and finish 3rd or so but Sam was doing an AP on him and got him home – just! It was truly a brilliant ride. I’d like to big up Sam Thomas after all the sh1te he’s been getting of late. He’s no AP or Ruby – who is? But he’s capable enough and showed us there at the Lep that he can shine like an AP genius at times. It was a brilliant ride. Young up and coming jocks shud watch that on utube. Another find of the season must be P. Townend – he’s one for the future for sure.
