Will be surprised if they move EOD
GE has 0 say on any of gig horses so when he sais we may reshuffle, or it may end up here or there,i always take that lightly
Dont see them moving him from this race which he is the more likely winner to the GC…. never know though
March 10, 2017 at 16:01 #1290847Sub lieutenant an able deputy
Can’t see them having 2 live chances in the Ryanair and only 1 in the Gold cupMarch 10, 2017 at 16:07 #1290849Added Zabana to this race yesterday at the 16’s. A serious player now he heads here, and surprised the 12’s is still available.
March 10, 2017 at 16:14 #1290850Added Fox norton ew at 14s
March 10, 2017 at 16:54 #1290863Disagree, ham.Elliot has felt that Empire of Dirt needed further and I’d say he will be switched now. Michael and Eddie definitely make the final call but they will take it into account, I’d say. Good news for UDS
March 11, 2017 at 13:08 #1291091Zabana scoped dirty and is out
Commisérations to backers
March 11, 2017 at 13:11 #1291093Bear me to it steeplechasing the French horse out the cross country too
March 11, 2017 at 19:37 #1291199Looking at the tactics for this race, with so many front runners lining up they may end up cutting each other’s throats and allow a stayer to plod on past them up the hill…maybe Irish cavalier might be worth throwing a few sheckles at?

Initially I was quite pessimistic but if you read that and take it at face value then Empire Of Dirt would be odds on to remain in the Ryanair.
The market has not moved in favour of the horse being switched.
March 12, 2017 at 00:00 #1291263Taken the 33s Uxizandre.
Still a bit left after being Pricewise’d but potentially shocking renewal. Kingy says back in work and goes to Doncaster next week.
‘Shocking renewal’ it is most definitely not.
It really is. No Zabana and Emire of Dirt likely to go Gold Cup. Un de Sceaux v Uxizandre v the field?
March 12, 2017 at 22:32 #1291512Empire Of Dirt practically confirmed for the Ryanair by the O’Leary clan now. Speaking as a totally unbiased person holding a 10/1 win-only Ryanair slip, I think they’re brilliant people with a lovely airline who have made the right decision.
This really does look quite simple for Empire Of Dirt. UDS should make a bold bid but we know he isn’t as effective on quicker ground. Alan King tends to ruin his horses after two or three seasons, so I’d be very wary about Uxizandre on the comeback trail, although perhaps he has been out of King’s care for much of that time.
What else is there? We know Empire Of Dirt holds Sub Lieutenant on form, Josses Hill can’t be trusted, Alary took a bone-cruncher at Exeter.
It is looking so golden for EOD here.
March 12, 2017 at 22:41 #1291514Josses Hill can’t be trusted, but the ability is there. On good ground, he seems better than he’s ever been this season, didn’t run badly in the King George, and that race has a great record in this. Empire of Dirt probably should win, but when the trainer is screaming gold cup and the owners don’t listen, tells me he’s not nailed on for this. On a going day and on the right ground, I think Josses Hill might make the doubters sit up and notice.

Looking a done deal now that he stays ryanair
March 13, 2017 at 15:11 #1291604Empire of dirt seems very short for a ten year old
March 13, 2017 at 15:24 #1291606I have to agree with Jamie on this one Jossie’s Hill is IMO overpriced at 9/1 when you consider he has probably had this as his target for a long time now and his jumping has improved dramatically since last year !! (it will probably fall now)

10 year olds dont have that bad of a record if my memory is correct
that stat always annoys me, you can get exceptional horses at that age and there plagued with a stat from poorer horses through the years
March 15, 2017 at 16:56 #1292365Only 8 runners for the Ryanair.
Although a lot of prominent runners.
Am on UDS 6/1, but that’s now a lesser win for me. Got EOD 10/1 ante-post and taken 8/1 SL now.Value Is Everything -
