Here is Mighty Yar taken 4 weeks ago at Warren Place
Hopefully he’ll be back soon. Many thanks for the info and picture. The big horse is getting whiter ! Hopefully he has strengthened up too. I am sure there is a decent race in him but I cannot fathom what trip he needs.

June 21, 2015 at 13:14 #1109392I agree with the previous posts on this subject matter; it is indeed sad to see the stable suffering from a lack of quality and patronage. Apparently it’s a done deal as far as Sheik Mohammed taking over is concerned although it is more difficult to work out just who will be ensconced into the facility as the trainer.
On the horse front it was good to see Mighty Yar is still around, does anyone know if Retirement Plan or Hamelin (I believe got injured at Royal Ascot last year) are still in training? I noticed on the Racing Post site that the well bred Codeshare (Prince Khaled owned) has a trainer listing as “unknown”; any ideas if he has been moved and if so why? He recently featured as a dark horse to follow by Sam Thomas on C4 and was definitely with Lady Jane then.
I know Lady Jane has her critics but as with many trainers, which she proved with Noble Mission, that, given the right ammunition she, with George, can produce the results.A good jockey doesn't need orders and a bad jockey couldn't carry them out; so it's best not to give them any.
June 21, 2015 at 21:53 #1110435I read in the Racing Post that Retirement Plan has had a setback but is expected to run later in the season. No direct news on Codeshare but some internet sites indicate he is at Warren Place. Another well bred unraced 3-y-o colt Film is in the July sales with Quantative and Sharissima.
June 21, 2015 at 22:11 #1110452Adding to the query on Hamelin does anyone know what happened to his younger half brother Touch The Sky ?
June 22, 2015 at 20:57 #1111569Funny enough Devonian I saw today that both RT & MY are listed as possible runners at Newmarket this Saturday. They may not run but at least they’re still around. I’ve no idea about THS, hasn’t run since it’s 2-y-o days, 2013; I assume it met with some kind of setback.

June 23, 2015 at 19:16 #1113041Yes I noticed those entries and Mighty Yar is already jocked up with a certain Mr Tom Queally who seemed right out of favour with the yard.
I see Lady C has a couple of unraced Juddmonte two year olds entered too: Highly Prized and Cabinet Room; the last named at Wolves though.
June 24, 2015 at 20:35 #1114549Ah well it’s not a rumour anymore anyway. Shame but I suppose these things happen…want to guess the next in this list; Cecil Boyd-Rochfort…..Murless….Cecil…….?
Bit of a surprise seeing Queally’s name against Mighty Yar; I heard the greedy so and so wanted more than he was offered to appear in the C4 documentary about Henry and Frankel but was turned down. Would explain why he surprisingly never appeared in the programme.
Just have to follow Johnny G now although I’ve a lot of time for Mr Haggas and Mr Botti.Dunstall Park eh………wasn’t that where Indian Skimmer started her 3-y-o career?

June 25, 2015 at 23:29 #1115652Indian Skimmer did indeed make her debut at Dunstall Park………………on the grass.
Boyd-Rochfort never trained at Warren Place; he was at Freemason Lodge. (Assuming that sequence was referring to WP)

It was a rumour that Queally wanted £6k to appear in the documentary. In fairness to him and to balance things out Mike Cattermole stated in I think the RP weekender that this was absolutely not true and manifestly unfair on Queally. Who knows what the truth is? There are always 2 sides. Perhaps Queally and Jane Cecil just don’t get on?
June 30, 2015 at 21:19 #1118633Lingfield 1, the truth regarding TQ and the Frankel doc may never be known. I don’t find it surprising that Mr Cattermole has defended TQ, how often do racing journo’s criticise anyone involved in racing publically? Particularly in the case of nice Mr C!
There must be something in it to explain why the horse’s one and only jockey never appeared nor indeed even get a mention, if I recall correctly.
Devonian, quite right about Cecil BR, I got a bit carried away!A good jockey doesn't need orders and a bad jockey couldn't carry them out; so it's best not to give them any.
October 16, 2015 at 16:52 #1217760Any news on who might be installed at Warren Place next season ?
Very sad to see the yard limping along to the end of the season and Lady C’s retirement with hardly any runners let alone winners.
Will be interesting to see if George Scott gets any allocation from Juddmonte when he starts training having retained some support from Niarchos.

You may have a point. I see Mighty Yar was entered for Wolves on Saturday in the race Hamelin won but was a non runner. Entered as a gelding for the first time.
January 27, 2016 at 21:49 #1230948Looks like it could end up being an add on to the Appleby yard
