Ignoring the fact that Martin and Grass’ were probably way ahead of you, they don’t sound like the words of the ‘first person to back Long Run’, TAPK.Media, without sounding too patronising.you will need to go a lot further back through the threads to find where i mentioned Long Run as an RSA bet!Muppet!
Only as far back as July in the AP Register thread, where I mentioned backing him for the Arkle, Gord.

May I edit his comment :>)
without sounding too patronising.you will need a good set off binoculars to look back through the field to find Long Run if he runs in the RSA
He should be kept foir Aintree, I can’t see him get round if he runs in the RSA, let alone trouble the judge!
January 23, 2010 at 15:59 #271636Diamond Harry looks the real deal.
I love this horse and have backed him in all his races.
While that was a very impressive debut producing what to me looked the best novice chase performance of the season, with the RSA in mind, yet I’d have to say by Diamond Harry’s usual high standards he wasn’t spectacular today.
He settled well today and responseded without undue effort from the jockey when Barry asked him to get into the race.
I feel he’ll come on lots for this run, with Timmy Murphy back on board he’s looking very strong for the RSA.
Right now I can’t see one to beat him, not Knockara Beau or Weird Al (two on my original very short short list) that’s for sure.January 23, 2010 at 16:04 #271637People waxing lyrical about Harry again
One of his rivals fell when moving up and kicked his other rival into the rails, as he was beginning to dig and race.
Harry comes home unchallenged and he’s an RSA winner!
Punchestowns and Long Run, who will no doubt jump better with more experience, will have little trouble dispatching him, imo.

There"s only one horse who i know could beat the Diamond over fences for sure and thats the one they call "d"Haguenet"!! The Diamond can do nothing but shine even brighter with a bit of polishing up!
January 23, 2010 at 16:34 #271645I’d have Cousin Vinny ahead of him too, with Punches and LR.
January 23, 2010 at 16:56 #271652Is that the same Cousin Vinny that won the bumper a few years back? Don’t let loyalty cloud your judgement, he’ll never be better than a handicapper over fences
January 23, 2010 at 17:03 #271656I will keep saying it time and time again, Weird Al has top be the best bet. For me Long Run and Punchestowns dont jump well enough, Pandorama needs bottomless ground to be seen at his peak along with Weapons Amnesty, and finally Mikael D’Haguenet would need at least one run to be anywhere near full fitness. The only Danger will be Diamond Harry providing he can get one more run before the festival, as he jumped very well today
January 23, 2010 at 17:12 #271663At Haydock today… they went very steady, in a tiny field, on a flat track with relatively small fences. As a representation of what might happen in the RSA it is hard to imagine a more remote comparison.
A decent introduction by DH, leaving aside his main rivals problems, but he has not impressed me at Cheltenham in any of his visits and makes a strange shape over an obstacle which is unsurprising for a horse of his length.January 23, 2010 at 19:40 #271694Still think Punchestowns will be the one to beat in the RSA.
Diamond Harry will come on a lot for the experience though today and he did what he had to do, nothing wrong at all with that performance.

As pointed out above, Diamond Harry got left in front in a race nothing like what the RSA will be like. In calling CV a handicapper, I think we’ve learnt more about your “clouded judgement” than anyone’sJanuary 23, 2010 at 23:49 #271743AnonymousInactive- Total Posts 17716
I wrote Cousin Vinny off as a Cheltenham horse after he ran in his 1st hurdle race and that got a few peoples backs up. Just to stick another iron in the fire the thing is overrated with a capital "O" and will never win a decent race handicap or otherwise…….wouldn’t have 10 Zambezian shitas on him in a two horse race.
January 23, 2010 at 23:54 #271744LOL, the big prices are all mine, it’s what makes the game pay so well!!
January 24, 2010 at 00:05 #271746Anyone have any idea what Tazbars target is, I know hes Entered for this but not sure if this is the aim or if hes going elsehwere.
Wherever he goes wether it is the RSA or elsewhere Bensalem is not one for me, saw his jumping today he was all over the place and it was only a matter of time before he came down.
Inchidaly Rock if he runs may have a chance, he looks a smart horse and the same for Take The Breeze, if he runs well tomorrow over in Ireland I’ll have a bit on him.
January 24, 2010 at 13:51 #271815more evidence that what Cousin Vinny has been doing when not ‘off’ is pretty decent
