This years RSA is fast becoming a disaster for me,i have lost on Mikael and now Weird Al! Diamond Harry and Long Run will only recoup losses should they win, which is a small consolation! TAPK is a great believer in "playing safe",but on this occassion that philosophy has gone out the window as i have had £100 e/w on
Weapons Amnesty
at 10/1! Never surrender!
March 14, 2010 at 11:00 #282242Punchestowns it is then.
March 14, 2010 at 13:25 #282270My Burton Port bet at 60’s is looking very good! Please run him Nicky!

I can’t see why Trevor Hemmings would not want the horse to run. He has a solid, no thrills profile which is no bad thing for a race like this.
March 14, 2010 at 13:38 #282273Citzen Vic now 18.0 with the news Ruby Rides and was 38 only 2 days ago.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

So The Nightingale is definitely out then.
March 14, 2010 at 13:59 #282276No i think the Nightingale still runs.
I am very much a fan of Citzen Vic and has been overlooked as i said above.
The Nightinggale is about 25 i think
March 14, 2010 at 18:48 #282328I thought the nightingale was being aimed at aintree? persumably the bookies prices (between 9 and 14’s0 are NRNB. Hes 25s on betfair and surely wouldnt be that if certain runner
Really liked the look of him at Kempton. Jumped very nicely, but this is probably an excpetional RSA with two possibly fantastic chasers in the making leading the market. Henderson is very very bullish about their respective abilities. and i still think theres more to come from diamond harry….(hope so)
Not even sure ill have a bet on this but at prices would be Punchestown if pushed
think this could be looked back upon as a really significant and great race in years to come
March 14, 2010 at 19:42 #282335Nicholls said in the paper on saturday he’d left him in just in case the race cuts up but that Aintree was the real target.
Can’t see him running now if Ruby is riding Citizen Vic. I prefer the Nightingale who I think has looked a natural over fences.
March 14, 2010 at 19:56 #282336Their are so many positives for Citizen Vic
Grade 1 Winner(Best of Irish at this Distance)
Speed
Ground(Improvement from Heavy to Good)
Jumps like a stag
Sure to stay 3miles as shown in PJ MoriartyI think he is a real real real dark horse.
Mullins quoted "Paul thought he had plenty left in the tank" after P.J. Moriarty
March 14, 2010 at 20:00 #282337He may not have half the engine as the Best of the English but what he does have is battle quality’s and great jumper and that can make up some way on them.
Obviously Long Run could be a freak but with the Jockey on Board and may inherent feeling that Punchestowns cried up the hill last year i may still get involved at that ridiclous price of 17 when 38 was availble a few days ago
March 14, 2010 at 20:10 #282343Am I right in saying Mullins claimed nothing will beat Long Run?
March 14, 2010 at 20:13 #282344If he Jumps
March 14, 2010 at 23:01 #282372I’d be slightly dissapointed if Weapon’s Amnesty didn’t reverse the placings with Citizen Vic.
March 14, 2010 at 23:05 #282374Right, let’s take on this dodgepot, sorry, hotpot Long Run with the classier, STAMINA LADEN Punchestown.
If he can be backed E/W – whoo-hoo, but I’ll probably end up doing a win bet.
Like many others I feel Weapons Amnesty will run a big race and he is my RFC beast.
Sorry for connections of Weird Al – bummer.

March 15, 2010 at 01:00 #282386Dont rule our Knockara Beau, jumped like a flapping pony at a puissance last time but was going the wrong way round and still nearly got to Burton Port (who jumped well) at the end. Looks like he’l improve no end for going back left handed, he has plenty of experience and is very tough. Jockey is a worry but the horse has good course form (mugged by Weird Al ealrier in season) and this is a race that can really come down to who toughs it out the best on the day. The RSA is not alway a race for the classiest horse. Really like Knockara as an each way play in this at anything over 20/1.

He was beaten four lengths and the in running comments I have just read are ‘no impression’. He has come up short when stepped up before and I will be very surprised if he beats Burton Port who in my opinion below par at Ascot as well.
