I wasted my money backing ROYAL PARTNERSHIP in the 1.10 at Southwall
This jockey a Miss K Quayle made no attempt to gain a position, instead she opted to hold her horse to the point it had lost all chance of winning the race :(
This race was a amateur riders race over 1 mile and 4 furlongs, the draw had no affect the winner was drawn 12,the second was drawn 1,the third in 5 and the forth in 11,Royal Partnership 15. The horse from being last or threabouts the whole race, the jockey who I doubt very much put any effort into riding the horse to gain a place, ended up finishing 9th a good 20 lengths behind the winner. The racing post a read today described its running in the race like this:
held up well behind, some headway over 2f out, never on terms.(I think 2 out she just give it some rein)
I understand this is a lady amateur(5lb claimer that has ridden a winner) but surely this was not just bad riding but blatent pulling up.
It will be very intresting to see where this horse is entered next.
This was a class G event, this horse has shown virtually nothing,no doubt the trainer will put it up one or two grades, goes in at a feather weight, put a pro jockey on top and cruise home, any stewards enquiry into the running, the trainer will just say the jockey made all the difference or something along them lines.

I will be waiting next time this horse runs ;)
i agree with much of what you say, although we are talking about what is probably an inexperienced amateur rider, and maybe she just thought the pace was quicker than it actually was.

the horse clearly has ‘issues’ anyway, but she has won on it and been placed (over a mile if i’ve remembered that right) and she patently stayed too far back for too long without asking the horse to close until too late and even then not really asking it to do much at all.

almost one to watch, but probably too moderate and quirky to worry about IMHO!
