Dubai Legacy win @ 33/1 on exchanges
Received a very quiet type of ride last time and got the impression that Dettori was in panic mode for most of that last furlong. Quite a good run anyway considering, but looks like he could be possibly a fair bit better than that run.
What’s The Story EW @ 40/1 5 places
Ran a decent race first time when second to Top Rank. Had an absolute nightmare passage last time at York where he could not get a run all the way up the straight at York. The winner had a bad run as well so hard to say if he would of won but would of finished a fair bit closer.

Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
June 14, 2021 at 12:51 #1545340Fiendishly tough contest as ever but the top of my ratings are dominated by those emerging from a strong strand of Irish mile handicap form. That said I’ve got 2/3 of the field within 7lbs of the top so not many here would surprise if they finished in front.
120 Pepperoni Pete
120 Real World
119 Layfayette
118 Fame And Acclaim
116 What’s The Story
116 Magical Morning
116 Bugle Major
115 Astro King
115 Irish Admiral
114 Brunch
114 Lucander
114 Matthew Flinders
114 Eastern World
114 Path Of Thunder(R)
then another six on 113, but I guess you get my drift!Strong two for me here are Layfayette (20/1), winner of the Irish Lincoln and close behind my other main choice Fame And Acclaim (22/1) latterly. Fame And Acclaim has been right in there in three big field handicaps this year and now makes a debut for Les Eyre.
Pepperoni Pete has improved no end this season, strolling clear in a lowly grade first time out and progressive since. Worth a tickle at 50/1 each-way.
Real World (33/1) is lightly raced and has done most of his racing at Meydan. Difficult to tell how the form translates but looks to have a fair chance and there may be improvement to come.
June 14, 2021 at 23:45 #1545477I was hopeful that Stunning Beauty would go here, but she’s heading for Kensington Palace.
Didn’t look at anything else in the original entries, so fresh look now, and unusual for me to have no strong fancy for this, one of my favourite races of the season.
Shortlist of four at the moment….
Brunch
Escobar
Lafayette
MaydannyJune 15, 2021 at 00:01 #1545481Working backwards in the betting
Cliffs of Capri seems to run well at Ascot in the bigger fields looks big enough to chance at 50’s.
Beat Le Bon has a race in him at some stage was only beaten a neck to Stunning Beauty LTO haven’t bet yet currently 20’s was hoping for 33’sGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
June 15, 2021 at 23:53 #1545706Escobar at 28 and Bowerman at 50’s for me for 8 places.Doesn’t seem the best renewal and cannot believe that Magical Morning is 5’s at the time of writing.Don’t have many bets on the flat outside the festivals so could have got this arse about face.
June 16, 2021 at 05:13 #1545717Wide open but it is a race I like and it has been quite lucky for me in recent years.
Like some of the earlier posters, I like Lafayette. I also believe Irish Admiral is better than he showed last time.
At bigger prices, I cannot resist my old friend Bell Rock. And I have also had a little bit on Revich at 66/1 in first time blinkers. Hayley Turner is no stranger to big priced winners on the straight track at Royal Ascot.
June 16, 2021 at 10:43 #1545746Are the bookies dodging Frankie’s multiples today or something? Magical Morning is miles bigger on the exchanges than he is in most books.
June 16, 2021 at 15:43 #1545812I’ve got two high draws and two low draws in my selections which covers the options. Looking at the going stick readings (8.3 High, 8.2 Low, 8.0 Middle) I hope the low draw jockeys have the brains to stick to the far rail. The 2yo low drawn fillies came down the centre and that’s the slowest bit of the course.

June 16, 2021 at 17:25 #1545840Thank you Marco Ghiani for doing your homework and backing your own judgement on the ground.
June 16, 2021 at 18:23 #1545848I think the pace did it robnorth Eastern World a bit like he did in the Lincoln went a bit mad on the side the winner was racing on and they were always a couple of lengths ahead of the pace set on the nearside. Take nothing away from the winner he’d have won wherever he was but I don’t think this was a case of the horse defying an apparent track bias that others may make it out to be. The good news is he won by so far that I’d be surprised if they put Astro King up and he’ll take a lot of stopping in the John Smiths Cup at York I reckon provided he isn’t drawn in the car park.

June 16, 2021 at 19:16 #1545856Thanks greenasgrass, I may have backed the Hunt Cup winner before but if I have I can’t remember when it was! Makes ploughing through 30 runner fields to calculate my ratings worth the effort.
