I’d be surprised if the anything outside of the front five in the betting got into a place.. Very surprised. This is a very good race, possibly the best of the whole meeting.
June 22, 2007 at 12:21 #65939The 2yo race (2:30) could offer some e/w value because of how short the favourite, yoursothrilling, is (5/4). Is it that price soloely on form or because of connections too? I agree it should be favourite but i don’t think it should be that short. Loch Jipps Hilary needler win has been frowned on but I think that offers value at 33/1 as it could do no more but win the race, and Eileens Violet could also be a tasty price at 33/1 as it could improve again here to finish close up. (Both 33/1 with vcbet).
The Coronation Cup certainly looks a hot race, and I’m still not really sure which I like. The German horse could be anything, but judging by p1 of this thread its hardly the forgotten horse or value one because everyone seems to be backing it! At the 9/2 now remaining I’m not sure any value remains. If its rain softened ground I’ll take Darjina but if Ascot avoided most of the rain the 7/2 about Finsceal Beo looks fairly generous. I just don’t buy this overrace theory. Look at horses like Young mick. They thrive on racing. Why should a horse needs a month or 2 months rest between horses? I am obviously in the minority but I don’t think that can be used as an excuse if FB gets beat. Good days racing to look forwards to anyway.

June 22, 2007 at 13:22 #65941I agree with you FSL about Loch Jipp. He turned the form with many of the field from Jannina’s race (It was only his second race that time) and the price is too big. Merits a place bet at least.
For what its worth Youresothrilling is probably that price because a) Its from Ballydoyle b) She’s an unpenalised group winner c) Pencil Hill ran well in the coventry (Front 4 pulled well clear)… But, I thought Jannina’s last win was a group contest in all but name and I really can’t split them so the value lies with the latter for me.. (But i’m not really keen on the concept of value so i’ll leave it alone or dutch em)
June 22, 2007 at 13:34 #65942Lays of Lucarno and Finsceal Beo look best today.
Mi Emma and Emirates Skyline are win interests!
June 22, 2007 at 13:38 #65943Unlucky with Aide Memoir, LGR. Available to back small at 120 last night, 70 this dinner and 60 on the off. A brave call and only just out the places.
June 22, 2007 at 14:26 #65944I swear Martin Dwyer just doesn’t like winning me money!
June 22, 2007 at 14:29 #65945Not my favourite bloke at the minute either, LGR.
Old forum favourite Puggy is being backed. 160 to 48 as I type.
June 22, 2007 at 14:32 #65946Still, Boscobel’s made up for his limp-wristed efforts…
June 22, 2007 at 14:34 #65947And how!! You’re on fire…

June 22, 2007 at 14:56 #65948Doyley, I stand corrected, great shout mate, I hope you backed it to win!!!
June 22, 2007 at 15:35 #65949LGR – if you keep backing winners like this week, you’ll be able to afford a runner at next years Festival!
Great stuff
June 22, 2007 at 16:46 #65950If Finsceal Beo fails today, it will be because she won’t last home over this stiff mile, to suggest she is over-raced is flying in the face of her actual form
have to watch it again but that looked like the run of a tired horse. She isnt quite as hopeless on the ground as all that
I agree with that. She travelled strongly onto the heels of the leaders but when asked found absolutely nothing, looked like a horse that needs a rest.
June 22, 2007 at 16:53 #65952And Binanti goes in at 33s
June 22, 2007 at 17:07 #65953Well done, LGR.
You are in inspired form at the moment.
June 22, 2007 at 18:53 #65954There has to be more than a hint of luck involved, given the field sizes in some of these races, but it has seemed too good to be true this week.
