Richard Hughes 2:20 Lingfield

Pocket talk here but if anybody gets to look at the replay of the above race, would I be wrong in thinking that Richard Hughes lost second place by putting his stick down and not pushing out his mount for the final 80 yards? This allowed Dushstorm to claim second place in the last few strides. Having been heavily involved in the match betting Zamboozle (hughes mount) v Dushstorm @ ladbrokes very generous 5/6, I was hoping for a bit more effort from the saddle. Then I remembered a line from nevisons book in which he says he never gets involved with Hughes mounts for match betting purposes as he tends not to get vigorous if his winning chance has gone.
