Quite like the look of Awe Inspiring here, and can’t believe she’s 25/1. Never got into it in the Oaks but prior to that looked a promising horse in a Cork maiden after some solid 2nds, form in this context isn’t good enough probably but Murtagh has opted for her and has a lot of potential.
June 16, 2010 at 21:12 #301278No, I don’t think she is worth that price. Murtagh only chose her over Cabaret, which doesn’t say much to me. After their performances at Epsom, plus the toll that course takes on a young horse…can’t have them. I think it might even be a bit soon for GertBell, who I like otherwise.
I think Principal Role is over-priced, Cecil has given her time to get here, and Eldalil is good e/w value. On pedigree, Fatanah doesn’t look like she will make it home.
June 16, 2010 at 23:04 #301317This race often throws up a surprise. Its not one i would be backing with confidence but i agree Principal Role is good value.
For the each way money Acquainted is the only distance winner in the field (albeit a maiden thats worked out poorly) and could grab a place.
June 16, 2010 at 23:15 #301320It could be almost ideal conditions for Principal Role – Step up in trip and good to firm will be perfect and I can picture a big run…..

How can Henry Cecil’s third string 3yo filly be a good bet when the other two ran so poorly at Epsom? I’d sooner have my money on Hibaayeb.
June 17, 2010 at 11:17 #301441Surfing the ‘Sarafina’ form line I see!?!

Cecil seemed very upbeat about his ‘third string’ in his interview with Chappers…but then so did Tregoning about his runner (in the press)…
June 17, 2010 at 12:03 #301456My 100% book:
Principle Role 4/1,
Middle Club 9/2, Hibaayeb 5/1, Acquainted 8/1
, Gertrude Bell 8/1, Fatanah 11/1, Eldalil 14/1, Bikini Babe 40/1, Cabaret 50/1, Gallic Star 80/1, Awe Inspiring 100/1

Ah well Zen it looks the best disclosed form other than Gertrude Bell.
June 17, 2010 at 13:34 #301484Principal Role’s form took a knock yesterday. Pollenator plainly hasn’t trained on being beaten 60L in the Guineas and Sandringham and yet was only 4L behind PR at Newbury. The latter should not be favourite for this.

To quote the Butler from ‘Mr Deeds’, "sneaky sneaky"!
