RIP
July 23, 2011 at 17:31 #365548Just got back from Ascot. Feel like i’ve been kicked in the stomach. Looked absolutely gorgeous in the parade ring, the horse that got me into the flat.
Sleep Tight
July 23, 2011 at 17:38 #365549Oh God
My heart sunk as soon as I saw his name on here
Rest easy boy
July 23, 2011 at 18:58 #365560Very sad news. Condolences to everyone involved with this wonderful animal. RIP, Rewilding.
July 23, 2011 at 21:34 #365576Devastated to post rewilding on here!!
Relatively new to flat racing….but followed this fallen hero
July 23, 2011 at 22:38 #365585Totally ruined the day.
The race will be remembered for his death rather than Natahaniel’s excellent performance.Sympathies to all concerned with him.
July 23, 2011 at 23:13 #365590Saw the awful fall on the big screens at Newmarket, the gasp that went round the course said it all, poor boy.
Had taped the race to watch when I got home but deleted it now.
It is sad to lose any horse in any race, but to lose a horse with as much potential as Rewilding is devastating. RIP brave warrior x
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...July 23, 2011 at 23:17 #365591RIP.
July 23, 2011 at 23:18 #365593I’ve only seen the Epsom Derby 2006 with Horatio Nelson’s horrible injury once, and that was about a month ago. Was at the track that day and couldn’t bear to watch. I think today’s race will be the same. A vile sight.
To a wonderful racehorse, rest in peace.
July 24, 2011 at 00:58 #365599only ever watch the top end flat races – have got used to to it being an avid follower of NH. Still have the image imprinted on my brain of him going down – not good
turning the tv off and looking away doesnt remove that
rip fella and condolences to the connections and all the fans of the horse … hope those that followed him can remember the great races
July 24, 2011 at 07:51 #365609Looked on here yesterday but too shocked to post at the time. So sad. A tragic end for a great young horse. RIP Rewilding.
Praise to John Gosden for putting his own joy to one side to go and comfort the horse, and for his calm and sensible comments on TV afterwards. May have gone some way to calming media backlash.
July 24, 2011 at 10:35 #365632Thanks ‘Re’…
July 29, 2011 at 09:04 #366325Very sad.
But praise to John Gosden for the way he used his post race interview. Have always thought John is a good ambassador for racing, showed real class on Saturday. - AuthorPosts
