If everyone knows about this, apologies, but it’s a decent little scheme for tightarse racegoers like myself.

You get a penny per £1 bet with Bet365, BetfairSportsBook and BetFred up to £20 a month, that’s a potential £720 a year in free tickets to participating tracks.

Sadly, I’m heavily restricted by both Bet365 and BetfairSportsBook and old Fred, who doesn’t mess about, has closed me down altogether, so while I’ve still got a bit of an R4R “wedge,” I am hardly adding to it any more nowadays.

But if you bet with any or all of these and go racing at tracks which take part, it would be rude not to.

I find Epsom Downs and Sandown Park – both of which have some very fair admission charges outside of their biggest fixtures – particularly good for using R4R credit.

You’ll get through your R4R points fast if you pay individual ARC track prices.

I’ve been with them for years Ian, It doesn’t sound a lot,
but over the long haul it definitely mounts up. Costs nothing
and has covered all my costs (not travel) to the Festival
more than once. What’s not to like

    Exactly, BigG.

I don’t go racing much (retains its novelty that way), but in 2022 I’ve had two cracking days at Epsom (Blue Riband Trial Day in April and yesterday) and one at Sandown Park (Classic Trial Day – saw Westover, Emily Upjohn, Mostahdaf and Alcohol Free) all free courtesy of R4R and didn’t even use that many points.

“You get a penny per £1 bet with Bet365, BetfairSportsBook and BetFred”

Great. I’ve had my account closed by two of those and don’t use the other one out of principle.

    “Principles? Can’t afford them, guv’nor.”

Best at least win a bit off them and get closed down – it’s what Alfred P Doolittle would do.

Been with them for 7 years via the Jockey Club Racecourse Bond scheme they did when they were financing the redevelopement of Cheltenham.

There is a whole host of partners you can earn points through lile M&S, B&Q, Debenhams, Just Eat, Currys, Screwfix, Argos, AO, Wickes, Ticketmaster etc

Well worth it if you happen to shop online quite a bit and there is bound to be a partner they have that you may buy regularly from to take advantage of.

Fully on board with this thread, Ian. I’ve been signed up to R4R for many years. As you say, it’s a no-brainer not to use it as bar the odd marketing email – that for the most part offer you quick points – there is no downside to it.

I also echo LD73’s point about partners. Bar Amazon and one or two infrequent outliers, pretty much everything I buy online can be done via R4R, thereby earning you differing levels of points that convert into cash for racing tickets. It took me a while but I’m now fully programmed in to channelling every online purchase through their website. The only small gripe I’d have is the lack of an app however, the website is easy enough to navigate from your phone so it’s no big deal.

Ian, Groucho got it spot on, “These are my principals, and
if you don’t like them…..well, I have others”

I knew about Argos and M & S but didn’t know about Just Eat.

Groucho Marx was a genius, BigG, and a man well ahead of his time – much of what he says has the same cutting relevance today….timeless.

I’m too tight to do much in the way if shopping so all my points come from past betting turnover.

I used to routinely hit £20 in points a month with Bet365, ditto BetfairSportsBook, but the latter soon restricted me and Bet365 got sick of me eventually too.

BetFred closed me down simply for backing a 5/2 shot which shortened to evens in a special market they priced up wrong.

Anyway, lots of good feedback here about R4R, I’m glad to see, vindicating the thread, I feel.

I attended Blue Riband Trial Day, Classic Trial Day and Sunday without handing over a penny.

Free admission in advance (maximum four tickets per applicant) at Windsor Monday 17th October btw.

ARC are generally shocking on individual admission prices, but most of their tracks seem to do one free day a year.

They’ve been paying for my Becher Chase tickets for many years now. It’s a great scheme.

One thing to remember is not to have different email addresses for R4R and whatever retailers you buy from.

Just noticed Iceland is a partner.

If only Waitrose was – I’d accrue enough points to buy a racecourse.
