April 10, 2024 at 22:31 #1689621Absolutely gutted to see this old warriors name here. My thoughts this morning when I saw his name on the race card were that he should be given a deserved honourable retirement RIP Restorer
April 11, 2024 at 00:02 #1689629Some quite old horses on here last week or two , all running in low grade stuff after long careers . To be fair Restorer form reasonable .ive no doubt connections love their horses but when at an advanced age for racing they really need to have a hard look at risk v reward .
I cannot see the reason running a 13 year old horse in a selling chase as Torrent Does Mottes did.At some point close in time at that age the horse is going to be retired , running for 4 or 5 K at that age I personally wouldn’t but each to there own.April 11, 2024 at 00:51 #1689633Restorer just failed last time out, but otherwise he was 0-20 on the AW. He really did well at Chester when owned by Dr. Koukash. The older he got the tougher he found winning races.
May he rest in peace.
April 11, 2024 at 18:32 #1689787I too was hoping he would have happy and long retirement ahead of him. So upset to see his name here today.
I saw him a lot at Newmarket in his younger days and as Ruby said he seemed to favour Chester where he was never usually out of a place for his enthusiastic owner.
RIP beautiful boy
He really did deserve better.Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out... - AuthorPosts
