This may be an unwise ante-post bet, as I might get bigger at weekend, but I’ve taken 20-1 on Kerryhill
February 14, 2025 at 20:25 #1720536Nemean Lion for me here. I think the stup up to 3 miles won’t be an issue for him and I think he has a bit more class.
Nemean Lion 5/1
February 14, 2025 at 22:09 #1720549Punted the outsider earlier, but the price has collapsed since i placed the bet.
Kerryhill 25/1
February 14, 2025 at 23:51 #1720565Beauport did win the Midlands Grand National at Uttoxeter, but went badly right at times there. Improved form this term has come at right-handed Ascot and been given soft leads too. Not sure he’ll be equally effective back on sharp left-handed track. Especially if (as seems likely) Botox Has may well be upsides.
Botox Has was back to form last time out. imo He’s far more consistent on soft / heavy ground than his overall record suggests… And although only “Good-Soft” now, there is rain forecast.
Nemean Lion is unproven at 3m, but he was a stayer on the flat and a good one. He’s one of the best flat horses to go jumping. 2 lengths second in a French Group 2 over 1m7f as a three year old for Andre Fabre. Doesn’t mean he’ll definitely stay the 3m here, but the way he relaxed at Windsor is encouraging.
I’ve backed both Botox and Nemean.

The more I know the less I understand.
February 15, 2025 at 10:59 #1720594Botox Has for me too, but it’s tentative. Not the classiest lineup, but it’s competitive enough!
February 15, 2025 at 14:03 #1720647I’d been really happy with my 10-1 on Thunder Rock, but there’s obviously huge reductions now for everyone with the non runner. I like this horse so I had another bet at 13-2
