Gowel Road to finally get his head in front now out of handicaps.

    Salver, for me :good:

I’m only 40 miles ‘down the road’ from Cheltenham and we’ve had a right deluge in the last hour plus.

I like Golden Ace back at Cheltenham. Better of in the weights with Lucky Place. Salver is a big danger though, the juvenile form from last year looks strong.

I backed Lucky Place last night at an average of 5.05 with originally a saver on Golden Ace @ 4. But when the rains came I’ve switched the saver to Salver.

imo Soft going should suit Salver better than Ace – or at least the test of stamina should. Doubt this will be enough of a test for Gowell Road and / or wrong ground. Langer Dan would win this if it were in the Spring, but doubtful in Winter unless there’s money for him. Thunder Rock would stand a great chance if able to run to his chase form. But ran an awful race at Ascot. Lucky Place has a little bit to find but is improving.

Yes, Ginger but it was his head/neck placement on landing that didn’t look good

I see what you mean about Salver’s fall. Did come down a little awkwardly on his neck, but don’t think it was underneath him so should be ok if allowed some time off.

Thanks. Salver wasn’t out of it when falling, RTB. But I did think Gowell Road was the main danger to Lucky Place when it happened, as Twister’s horse was the true stayer in the race.
