LOL MOE!!! It finished second A long way behind the odds on shot but a good second none the less.
Anyway I have four for Wedenesday
12.20 LUDLOW
BRAMBLE BROOK 0.5 PTS e/w 50/112.40 NEWBURY
SHAH OF PERSIA 1PT e/w 16/12.05 LUDLOW
MAN OF GOD 0.5 PTS e/w 20/13.30 NEWBURY
PARISIAN STAR 0.5PTS e/w 14/15PTS STAKED
December 16, 2015 at 00:08 #1226026I’ve backed Shah of Persia. There was a nice little novice chase today with 5 runners…3 hotpots and 2 outsiders. One outsider came second but, as ever I backed the other one.
December 18, 2015 at 16:28 #1226273Backed blue across the board Coeur Blimey just now at 50/1 [hurrah]. Thanks raymo; you’ve encouraged me to go for the big prices. I was down so much on my account today that I was going to have a break [put a big, by my standard, bet on Woodford Island which only came 3rd].]I’d written the name down and had a horrid feeling I hadn’t placed the bet but I did.
December 19, 2015 at 14:03 #1226448I like a few double priced horses today Raymo. Do you fancy any of these?
2:25 Ascot
Although Thistlecrack is the biggest bet and a saver on Reve; Dynaste looks over-priced @ 14/1. Stable in better form now than his first two starts this term. Going back a few years was chasing home Big Buck’s. Ground a possible problem, but worth a bet at the price. Also saved on Taglietele @ 29/1. Quite a bit to find on form but seemed suited by this sort of trip in the past and not been tried at it for some time, could improve. Stable in cracking form too.
3:00 Ascot
Salubrious is the biggest bet @ 8/1 and saved on Fingal Bay, but have also backed:Wakanda is consistent and improving. Can’t understand why he’s so big at 12/1. Genuine fighter from in form stable. Get on!
Gullinbursti‘s been dropped in the handicap. Hasn’t run for some time and seems a little temperamental, doesn’t win very often but more consistent when fresh. So this may be the time to catch him (at a big price). Been some good money for him over the past few days which also suggests he’s fit. Worth taking a chance on at around 15/1.
It doesn’t show up in the wins column, but David Bridgewater is in excellent form at the moment, if The Giant Bolster is ever going to return to his best could be today. On best form is very well handicapped. He’s one with a deal of temperament, but at 20/1+ is worth a bet. Rather it was Cheltenham, but can’t be too fussy at that price.
3:35 Ascot
Think the two favs Winner Massagot and Jolly’s Cracked It are good bets too, but have also backed:Sort It Out as a saver @ 14/1, hasn’t run for some time and appears second string on jockey bookings. But shown consistent improvement (admittedly over further last time, but ground conditions should bring stamina in to play). Stable of this “second-string” in much better form than “first string” too.
Saved on the Mullins second-string too (they often go off at a bigger price than should) Noble Inn won well last time and is improving. Far more reliable than first-string too.
Rayvin Black possibly been under-rated because of his well beaten second to easy winner (and today’s favourite) but still probably his own best performance and better off today. 40/1+ seems generous and another saver.
Jolly’s Cracked It’s stable (which is in magnificent form)’s companion Presenting Arms won at Wincanton despite taking a strong hold. Won there with a different 7 lbs claimer on board and if able to restrain it better in this larger field could surprise a few. Around 50/1 on betfair is an insult.
Song Light ran badly last time on reappearance, but Seamus Mullins stable is now in far, far better form! May not have finished progressing and this type of race could suit him. Backed him at @ 54/1.
Value Is EverythingDecember 20, 2015 at 12:55 #1226589There’s a race in Ireland today where half the runners are 100/1. As it’s first 3 I’ve put pennies on all of them! Didn’t read your review yesterday Ginge but thankfully backed Song Light ew as there was money going on him; however it only covered my losing bets [of which there were many]. Gunner McGregor in the 3.40 is being backed and I always put money on unraced horses in bumpers that are being backed.
December 20, 2015 at 18:12 #1226612Well, that was a cunning plan that didn’t work but thankfully I had a last minute bet on Liams ride for H Evans, who he doesn’t seem to ride for as much these days and he won at 16/1. I seem to be keeping my head above water purely by luck these days. That big winner is still out there though.
December 20, 2015 at 20:38 #1226619It definitely i still out there Moe!!
We have to keep looking and hoping.

December 27, 2015 at 16:00 #1227401A frustrating day having backed quite a few that finished second [including Simply Ned] who all sounded [listening on racing radio] to be winning their races.

Mrsraymo has had four bets today at Kempton (TV races) and the same yesterday and has won nearly a hundred quid!!Perhaps I should buy a new pin !!
