Now it is RIP to Terry Griffiths as well. Two great Welsh players gone within a few months of each other.
Along with the recently departed Clive Everton that’s three from that era.
They were all still involved in the game one way or another until relatively recently as far as I know.
I was a little bit disappointed to hear Judd Trump say “It is hard to connect with some of the older generation but he was someone I felt I could get along with.”
The older players are not immune from criticism but it seems a little ungrateful of Trump. Whatever he thinks of them, they paved the way for snooker to become what it is today and for Trump to make a very good living.
