Today’s Ratings
December 29, 2010 at 11:03 #334123I’ve just downloaded your ratings spreadsheet for yesterday, 28 December, and I’ve discovered a problem. Let me explain.
I had a closer look at the spreadsheet by ‘showing’ the hidden columns containing the data that is used to produce the rating for each horse.
The problem, and there were 31 horses yesterday whose rating was wrongly calculated, lies in column L and the formula for awarding 10 additional points if the horse is a Course Winner as identified in Column E with the letter ‘X’.
The formula in cell L5,
In effect you’re awarding Course Winners no extra points at all.I’ve also checked the first spreadsheet you posted a link to and the same flaw is present. Therefore, assuming this anomaly has gone unchecked until now, all the ratings for Course Winners, in all of the spreadsheets you’ve published, have been inaccurate.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but at least it’s a problem that’s easily resolved.
All the best.

The formula in cell L5,

I found that the formula in the
bot
used by manchester worked whether it had a lowercase or uppercase ‘X’
January 6, 2011 at 10:14 #334867The formula has been checked and is ok as is, my excel is not what it should be tbh
