Absolutely true story from yesterday.
A man in the West of Scotland walked into a bookmakers shop and put a bet on the Rangers v Inverness Caley Thistle match at Ibrox.
He filled his coupon in and left the shop. He had stuck £60 on Rangers to win @ 1/5.
– or so he thought. Only later did he discover that he had marked the wrong box. He had inadvertently marked the away box instead – £ 60 ICT to win @ 8/1.
The man returned to the shop and pleaded with the manager to amend the bet. He insisted that it was a genuine mistake and would they please change it to a home win. After a phone call to HQ the bet was amended.
He left the shop happy as Larry.
Oh dear ! You all know the outcome.
He must have been kicking himself all night when discovering that ICT had won the match 1-0.
