agree. the RP website has just become a money grabbing little site that has lost my interest. ATR and thesportinglife are much better, esp on results. has anyone noticed how slow RP are in getting results up?

It was a superb finish (it helped I’d lumped on Libranno). Hughes is a bit of a genius.
August 30, 2011 at 10:53 #369521There are quite a few websites which are ruined by there money chasing antics! Iv stopped going to quite a few sites because they have become filled with adverts and pop ups!
August 30, 2011 at 11:21 #369525FFS………..there is a phenomenal amount of information on the RP site, all for free
And if you want some extras it’s a couple of quid of week
I think it’s the biggest bargain on the internet !
August 30, 2011 at 12:19 #369529With the daily national papers writing less and less about racing, I do not think now is the time to start bashing one of very few papers that that caters almost exclusively to the racing industry. I have not read the article in question, but the Racing Post is usually a very good product, and the website does give very up to date information on racing stories, and though the results may not be up as fast as on other websites, it is still a quality webpage.
Although some things may not be as good as they can be, I really do think the Racing Post has earned some slack, and has certainly earned my respect.
August 30, 2011 at 20:27 #369553I think you will find that papers are giving less coverage is because it is slowly falling out of favour and will eventully become a minority sport.
I know people will challenge that comment because everybody on here follows and loves racing.
However ask yourself the question. How many do you know outside racing who have any interest in it whatsoever. Your circle of racing friends will but outside of that it does not appeal.

I am waiting to be shot at.No Idea, I thought racing was a minority sport anyway unless you’re talking grand national. However the still a racing community to serve.

What do you posters mean by a
minority sport
?
Because if you’re talking about only a
minority of the entire population
being interested, that’s just as true for fu’bol as it is for Horse Racing, F1, or Lawn Croquet come to that. They’re all minority sports, because the majority isn’t interested in them at all.
In other words, does the phrase have any meaning at all? when you’re applying it to – wait for it – the
second most popular spectator sport in the UK
, and (even now) the
most gambled upon
.

Yes but people go to F1, football for the sport… and not just for betting! if there was no betting at the races only a handful of people would go and it would kill the sport of uk horse racing.
i love horse racing for the horses racing like f1 Racing and not just for betting.
Betting rules UK horse racing and not Horses sadly
How many people in the street would of been interested in the last race at Wolverhampton yesterday None
But if you said you had a tip in that race they would of been.
