just wondering how to copy and paste the racing post at a glance cards from the website to excel?anytime i try it i get all the detail including breeding, comments and form which totally distorts my excel sheet.i just want the horse name draw jockey training rpr ts and or.any advice appreciated?its possibly something very obvious that i must do before i paste.
May 3, 2012 at 17:46 #402922The first thing is NOT to use IE as your browzer for this purpose. Try copying and pasting with either Mozilla Firefox (which I use) or Google Chrome (which the Excel expert I rely on says works as well in this regard).
The second point is not to use "paste", but "paste special" and then "text". Using those I copy details from the Post’s "at a glance" cards and results pages every day with no problems, and with some relatively simple use of formulas get those parts of the data I want into the right columns of the Excel sheets I use to analyse races (data from cards) or my database (data from results).
