Are we suggesting they have just made up the finishing order? If we have the order how many people are that concerned about the distances.
No, just querying how they arrived at the finishing order given the circumstances.
If, as the last poster suggests, a steward was posted by the finish then surely it’s worth noting in the Steward’s Report?
That’s got to be the worst aspect of this, unfortunately it’s par for the course these days for the BHA, a very deceitful organisation. Obviously they need time to think up some “credible explanation”.
Let’s face it face it though every area of horse racing is contaminated by bookmakers.
December 18, 2016 at 07:49 #1277716I was at Haydock today. It was actually quite a good meeting with a reasonable card and a festive crowd – we even had a streaker ! But the fog was something you could only imagine, especially for the final race. We couldn’t even see them pass the winning post in front of us ! I understand there was a steward at the line and another who had travelled round in the ambulance. I agree, it was a total farce and (the last race) should have been abandoned.
What was the reaction of the crowd during the day? Was it frustration or amusement?
If they had a steward at the winning line and another in the ambulance why did it take several minutes to announce the result? Did the fog affect the mobile signals
December 18, 2016 at 08:50 #1277718A complete farce. As GT said how can they handicap the horses after this. No distances or anything. Sounds like the winner was struggling when last seen so must have stayed on well
December 18, 2016 at 10:29 #1277734Let’s be realistic it is one race with nine runners. Quite possibly you won’t see the same again in a lifetime. It isn’t the equivalent of climbing Mount Everest.

That’s 2 in less than a week then. Brian Hughes horse was disqualified at Catterick because he weighed in light after the stitching on his saddle split and he lost some lead out in the fog.
What next?
Anything’s possible the way this sport is being run.
