Chaninbar is trained by MILTON Harris, not Martin.
This error has been on your captions for weeks. Do please sort it out, chaps!

Actually, seeing a Harris runner in a snowy scene like today’s reminds me – anyone know if he’s sent anything across to St Moritz for the snow racing again this season? Was something of a semi-regular jaunt until recently, I think.

Also, is it James Boyle or Jim Boyle the trainer from Epsom
January 14, 2010 at 17:03 #269883Jeremy,
The first St Moritz meeting this winter is not until Feb 7th. I’ll enquire whether Milton is planing to send runners this year.

January 14, 2010 at 17:06 #269884Ted Walsh popped up in a brief promo for St. Moritz on CNBC (business channel) the other day- he gets around!
January 14, 2010 at 17:28 #269888Ted Walsh never stops talking: the TV channels certainly get their moneys worth out of him.

January 14, 2010 at 18:59 #269915I’m told that Milton will be sending some horses to St Moritz, but no details yet as to which ones.

I believe it’s James only when his mum discovers that he hasn’t tidied his room.
January 14, 2010 at 20:49 #269941One of Miltons ex horses, Baileys Best, will be making the trip to St. Moritz, competing in one of the Skijoring races. The entries close on 25th January for the first days racing on February 7th, so everyone has a few days yet.
January 14, 2010 at 21:06 #269944Noted with thanks, AP and Darren!
And for those of you who are still wondering what this is all about, just stick "White Turf" into Youtube. Plenty of footage along the lines of;

Must be great fun having horses with a trainer who wants to take in the likes of this!

January 14, 2010 at 21:17 #269952Is that sheer coincindence that the footage shows Christians horse winning?
January 14, 2010 at 21:27 #269954Great stuff Jezza,
I remember back in the dark and distant past, an AW stalwart who was a particular favourite of mine – the James Unett-trained Bressbee – was sent to St Moritz and emerged victorious. Unless my mind is playing tricks on me, he was then paraded in front of the handful of customers at Dunstall Park at a subsequent meeting.
Happy days!
January 14, 2010 at 21:33 #269956Best one was yesterday when on Sky Sports News they referred to Jeff Pearce as Jonathon Pease!
Mark Johnston has sent a few over to St Moritz in the past and Robert Havlin regularly goes over to ride there, not sure if that will be the case this season.

I remember Havlin finishing 3rd in the Swiss Jockeys Championship a few years ago. He’s actually a really big star over there, and usually rides for Miro Weiss, one of the top names amongst Swiss trainers.
However, this years White Turf will be tinged with much sadness, as Kurt Schaffluetzel, for many years locked in battles with Weiss for the Swiss trainers title, died back in August aged 67 after a long battle against cancer. Schaffluetzel was a regular at St. Moritz, and I think he won the Grosser Preis St. Moritz a few times. He actually won one of Switzerlands biggest races, the Grand Prix d’Avenches just a week before he died. He trained over 1000 winners, and won the trainers title in Switzerland several times. St. Moritz won’t be the same without him.

Wahrscheinlich…
