I’m going to bet Reshoun in this if he gets an entry, which I expect him to.
He isn’t a horse to have complete faith in, but I would like to think he would be a fair ew price, even allowing for his good record in this

Quite hopeful about Dawn Rising this year, and Falcon Eight is a very backable price too, so no option but to sit tight just now.
A lot will depend on how earlier races go. Combo Tricast certainly an option, while Falcon Eight makes most appeal at the prices, but definitely one to look at again tomorrow.
June 24, 2023 at 10:14 #1653258When looking at the Ascot stakes i noticed Run For Oscar wasn’t dec’d but took the chance he was avoiding the harder race + showing up here instead…(on paper Stratum is tough but i sort of disregarded him).
Got a good price, but the more i look at it, Dawn Rising’s a frightening f’ER.
Was tempted to dutch them and take a shorter price on DR, but i’ll stick with the one. RFO has only ran 8times on the flat himself, and looked better than ever when upped to 2m2.
Update- i’ve missed 100s, but im taking 50s on Coltor, a horse i used to watch quite a bit when with Dermot Weld. Has it all to do on ratings. However, a key part of this race will be staying. Plenty have question marks in that regard, and he’s a horse i always considered slow as muck, and at his best going as far as possible.
So i’ll take a a little bit of his price at 50s e/w

June 24, 2023 at 11:16 #1653275Couldn’t put you off him, Mike.
Dual previous winner Stratum and Run For Oscar the obvious threats.

June 24, 2023 at 18:17 #1653444Yep well done but it ain’t done much to reduce my losses £23 down over the week.

June 24, 2023 at 18:40 #1653451What a fantastic Royal Ascot – and the discussion here added to it, so thank you all.
World-class ride yet again this week from Ryan Moore in the last, but possibly I am biased.
After a few years in the relative doldrums by his standards, too often on the wrong one for his yard, Moore seems back to his very best to me.
I don’t need him to smile or speak to the media – he can just carry on letting his jockeyship do the talking for me.

He’d had a poor couple of seasons by his own lofty standards but this season and last season normal service has very much been resumed
Jim crowley on the other hand I’d imagine would want another go on Run For Oscar who was absolutely cruising but the gaps never opened
Getting trapped on the inside on the round course is always a death sentence
Would be nice to see more tracks use cutaways, leads to less hard luck stories
