Small but select field at this stage, and probably be looking at half a dozen Ayr best come Saturday…..

I’d be really keen on Jury Duty for this, and if it gets an Antepost Market, I’d take a chance.
Could see him short enough on the day, which might rule him out for me, but he’s my idea of the winner right now. He’s off to America again by the look of things, but he made the frame in this last year, en route to Far Hills.
Peregrine Run looks an obvious danger, but hopefully I’ll get a chance to bet Jury Duty.
October 3, 2019 at 11:21 #1463597I sort’ve like Shattered Love for this price depending.
Bigbadandbeautiful out tomorrow Bobby! interesting race + Elliot seems to very much like the one Lisa is on!

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!October 3, 2019 at 18:39 #1463622Good luck Jack, if you go with Shattered Love, she certainly due.
As for Bigbadandbeautiful, maybe won’t bet her, but looking forward to seeing her.
October 3, 2019 at 18:55 #1463623Is it jumps season, Vtc..??
10 to follow must be around the corner
Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
October 3, 2019 at 19:13 #1463624I like Snow Falcon and would be pleased with 3/1 or bigger.
October 3, 2019 at 23:24 #1463646If the majority stand their ground, I reckon you’ll get your 3’s Potato. I always get the Meade horses wrong, so put him down as a certainty now.
October 3, 2019 at 23:26 #1463648Yeah Nathan, it’s getting into stride now.
Ten To Follow thread will be up next week at some point.
October 4, 2019 at 15:58 #1463698The key ones all stand their ground, and it’s a seriously good renewal.
Even allowing for the inevitable non runner(s) it should still be a decent race.
Still Jury Duty for me, but will depend on price.
October 4, 2019 at 18:25 #1463707Happy with 6/1 on SNOW FALCON twice my price and have backed ew, should have a good chance.
October 4, 2019 at 18:39 #1463710From my blog:
I don’t usually bet this early in the season, but there’s a good steeplechase at Gowran Park tomorrow – the 4.25. Nor do I usually bet horses with jumping deficiencies, but I’m backing one in this race.
Us And Them has a string of 2nds to his name – five – and he’s won just a single Chase from eight. But he’s been keeping very good company. All five of those races were Grade 1s. He unseated last time in Chacon Pour Soi’s race at Punchestown, losing his rider at the third. Prior to that he was 2nd at Aintree despite some very chancy jumps. And before that he ran on from what looked a hopeless position (second last, a mile back) two out to be 2nd in the Arkle at Cheltenham.
He is quite stiff backed when jumping – a trait I normally avoid with fervour. Horses affected by this tend to always do it to some extent; it’s difficult to train out of them.. The most notable sign of not being able to bend the spine is leaving the hind legs in a fence (Long Run used to do it when under pressure). It can affect confidence and some horses become nervy approaching a jump. But Us And Them shows no sign of anxiety and, despite the fault, tends to find a way from one side to the other. I’m happy to give him a chance tomorrow because of his jumping in the past as much as in spite of it, because he must have a hell of an engine to continually place in these top races. Had he been a good jumper I’d be confident that string of 2s would feature at least three 1s.
James Joseph Slevin (JJ) usually rides Us And Them. The victim of that unseat was Shane Shortall who wouldn’t know the quirks of the horse as well as JJ. Joseph O’Brien trains the horse and the yard is in fine form at the moment. This is the horse’s first attempt at 2m 4f but the way he’s been finishing his races strongly suggests this longer trip will suit.
Most online bookies go 9/1 Us And Them and I make him a two-star bet* EW. I’ll be very surprised if he isn’t shorter at the off. There are 8 runners declared and we must hope that all stand their ground to ensure three places.
October 4, 2019 at 19:43 #1463719Good luck Joe, fingers crossed one doesn’t come out, but there’s always one, and doesn’t look ideal for Peregrine.
Haven’t bet Jury Duty yet, but very happy with that opening 8’s.
October 4, 2019 at 19:56 #1463721Thanks, Bobby. All the best.
JoeOctober 5, 2019 at 14:47 #1463845Absolutely no idea so went for Yorkhill 12-1 ew Trip and small field will suit. Going the wrong way round of course and he jumps as badly left as ever, but this race throws up odd results sometimes.
October 5, 2019 at 16:32 #1463863WD potato, the best horse won. Good tippimg
October 5, 2019 at 16:32 #1463864Excellent winner Potato, that was easy.
Thought you were going to get there Joe, but some consolation with the place. Looks a horse to keep note of.
October 5, 2019 at 16:37 #1463867The Storyteller had a nice little canter round for a mark drop. Maybe another spin over 2 – 2.5 to drop down a bit more, then hurdles to keep him ticking over till Aintree?
October 5, 2019 at 16:38 #1463868Thank you gents. He did it well.
