Mr Butler showed complete contempt for punters by pulling a stroke here.
The horse has been under his winning mark for a long time. The only clue available was the money. The horse was prepped for this run by A. Kirby riding him down the field. A ploy often employed by D. Evans where the horse came from. Grace mcEntee got on the horse two runs back and the horse stepped up to a mile. Second run at 11 f. Last winning mark was 78 so the horse has many pounds in hand and can now drop back in trip and exploit this low mark. It helped recoup a poor round on my part. But virtually impossible to second guess this yard.
A couple of close calls but a meeting where I named winners without backing them with a win in the first and last race.7.30
