I’m travelling today so I might not actually get to watch the races live, with spotty reception on the phone along the drive. I’ve watched a few races I’ve had bets in after the fact, knowing nothing, even placing in one, and it didn’t really take from the experience. But after that drive hopefully tomorrow I’ll be on the coast with plenty of beers, The Irish Field, and a day of racing awaiting me.

    3.40 Alpha Male 5/2
4.15 Fan De Blues 10/1 ew 3 places
    4.50 Contingency 28/1 ew 3 places
    5.25 Abacadabras 12/1 ew 3 places
    6.00 Ashdale Bob 9/2
6.35 On The Sod 28/1 ew 3 places
    7.00 Elite Charboniere 66/1 ew 3 place

I’ll be on the coast with plenty of beers, The Irish Field, and a day of racing awaiting me. Happiness is….

Might join you with Elite Charboniere, gorgeous horse, can’t wait to see him over a fence. I’d back Abacadabras too, if the stable weren’t in poor form.

Contingency is interesting, stable website sounded dubious about the long layoff, mind you they said that about Whiskey Sour and he ran a stormer.

I think the sensible way to go would be to avoid the opener, but at 7/1 I’ve went with Beyond Redemption

another couple of toughies for the handicappers today, though fields slightly smaller. Sticking to the figures my top three in each race are:

    4.15
A Wave Of The Sea 173
    Rebel Gold 167
    January Jets 166

Common theme is that all three are coming off the back of a run down the field last time. A positive is that all three should be at home on the quicker ground.

    4.50
    Abbey Magic 173
    Scarlet And Dove 165
    Court Maid 164

The three here have a significant advantage on my figures as next best is on 157. Trip and ground no problem for the top rated ABBEY MAGIC with low mileage on the clock for a 10-year-old. Looks a big opportunity for her.

    Punchestown 4.15

Rebel gold beat Antey in a beginners chase and has two good ground wins over hurdles.
Three chase starts won, 3rd ,3rd, pulled up last time on heavy ground perhaps with this race in mind?

Agusta Gold at 5/1 but it’s a tricky looking race this.

Thanks she’s a quare lump of a mare. There was some not very fabulous jumping by most of the participants there. Scarlet and Dove looks likes she’s seen something out of the corner of her left eye the whole time but was game to try, mine got her big self up and her head down at the right time.

Jeez she was just idling in front of the last there or was she messing with Sharjah’s mind? “Oh no I’m getting tired…ha ha no I’m not, had you fooled, see ya later losers!!”

Looked like rachel took a pull at the last there, not sure why, low in confidence possibly after a tough week, horse simply too good though and got her out of one.

Ganapathi at 8/1 looks too big here, I could make a case for him
