bet mccoy will get abit of gyp for his ride on denman, already seen a few negative comments. thought he rode denman ok considering it was pulling to the left the whole race. poor attitude shown by denman, would of thought paul nicholls have him spot on after his sloppy season. poor training performance imo.
Agree that Nicholls probably shouldn’t have run him at this course but was the only race left of the season to go for really. Can’t really criticise Denman though, he is only a horse after all and obviously doesn’t like going that way round so to finish a close 4th wasn’t too bad, 11/8 was quite a short price though when taking this into account as well as the faster ground.

Denman probably was ‘spot on’ for this race.
He didn’t help himself by constantly lugging left but, with a strong pace from the outset, they were always going a stride too fast for him on this ground, and there’s little doubt he’d probably have won anyway – had the ground been appreciably softer.
Can’t blame the horse or jockey for that though.April 21, 2010 at 21:27 #291585Sort of aftertiming, havent had a bet since twice over in dubai and only have mobile internet at the minute. Ive always thought planet of sound would be better with a trip and put him up 4 the ryanair after his run behind albertas run. Drifted like a barge on that day but was positive in the market but still got 25s with ladbrokes and came good 2day and was the best result in 5 years. In saudi arabia so only saw result, did he do it well?
April 21, 2010 at 21:51 #291593They were finding thaat Planet Of Sound had been choking when he had been racing so it was the first time he wore a tounge tie to stop the problem, and he seemed to love the step up in trip.

With the ground edging toward g/f, there’s nothing in the RyanAir likely to get Captain Cee Bee of the bridle, and he really should have too much speed for the other main contenders.
Accepting that, 3/1 looks more than fair.April 22, 2010 at 08:22 #291635Bensalem at 14-1 waiting 4 odds on majestic oak, baily light, roi du mee and rock the bock. Gd luck folks…
April 22, 2010 at 08:56 #291642How anyone could blame McCoy for yesterday’s performance by Denman, i dont know.
The horse never settled yesterday, and was a handful from the start with the very exuberant leap at the first.
If you watch the race closely, McCoy even had to hold onto Denman’s mane in order to try and get him to turn his head to the right when he was constantly lugging left. Denman did himself no favours at all yesterday, and McCoy did brilliantly to get him anywhere near 4th.
April 22, 2010 at 09:14 #291646Personally thought AP gave another excellent ride on Denman, gutted I didn’t back planet of sound, as I had a considerable wager on it at Cheltenham!
Anybody else fancying Alavain in the 4yo hurdle?
April 22, 2010 at 09:38 #291651alavain has a great chance, mcnamara hasnt had a winner yet. even more so karabak, think it has an outstanding chance, everything in its favour, fresh from no run at chelt.

Sizing Australia
Karabak
Osana
Halcienda (not punchestown)April 22, 2010 at 12:12 #291680Some strange results yeasterday, luckily the only proper bet I had, Arabella Boy ew at 7s just covered the rest of my stakes for the day, can’t believe I didn’t back Eda Bolger’s Hunter Chase winner, Nina Carberry coming off him to stick with Dun Doire put me right off as I gave Dun Doire no chance.
Today Quevega and Freeny’s Well looks the only ones worth much cash, ew as always
I’ve throw in Majestic Oak and Osana to make up a small ew yankee and had a small single ew on Majestic Oak to start the day
Looks like it’ll I might raid the piggy bank for
Luska Lad & Dunguib tomorrow, (very worried about Voler La Vadette though) and Garde Champetre and For Bill (Banker of the week) on Saturday although right now I’ve probably already got enough on the last 3 from an earlier yankee with Sizing europeand has anyone noticed an entry for Hardy Eustace in the final flat race, I’d though he’d been retired?

And he won’t he is injured.

April 22, 2010 at 13:32 #291696Only four appeal today, I’ve gone for a single on Arabella Boy and ew yankee on the four below, none of the four look bankers so no major bets today but perhaps a single bet or two on some of these depending how the yankee goes.
Arabella Boy
Denman
Old MacDonald
Tyrone Golden RainAfter watching a re-run of Sizing Europe’s run yesterday makes me think that he’ll be upped in distance next year, I’d suspected for a little while that he’s more likely to make up into a Gold Cup horse that a 2 miler.
Did you not post this yesterday CS? Its not really in keeping with your post above. Was it single or e/w on Arbella boy? And even if it was e/w, how does a 1.38/1 profit on one race cover you for the whole day?
April 22, 2010 at 13:35 #291697Captain Cee Bee’s my banker of the meeting today to atone for Cheltenham. I couldnt believe my eyes when I seen 4/1 on offer this morning.

He’ll look like a 100/1 shot if he bursts…
I think he’s an aeroplane though and if all goes well I feel he’ll hack up.
