Can anyone tell me why Proviso is still 6/4 please. Her Calvados form is head and shoulders in advance of anything else her rivals have achieved, arguably it is on a par with the standard normally required to win the race. Given she still looked green and needed to be ridden at halfway before picking up strongly, it’s hard to imagine she won’t come on again given the chance to tackle an extra 1f.

The Irish juvenile fillies look a pretty mundane bunch. Listen has every chance of reversing form with Saoirse Abu given a better ride than she’s received on her last 2 starts stepping up in trip and whilst Saoirse Abu will probably stay 1m, I cannot see how she’ll improve for it to have any chance of troubling Fabre’s filly. An outstanding bet imo.

Strange to see the visor on Saoirse Abu as well. Blinkers haven’t done her much harm the last twice.

Saoirse Abu is a dual Group 1 winner and with rain forecast between now and weekend, she might get her surface. I’ll be backing her; the form’s in the book.

It is not very often a dual G1 winning filly (Who has already beaten colts) goes into a race at the price she is….. I haven’t seen proviso’s race but to say that she has form way above the others is surely off the mark?

Thanks DJ, definitely a taking victory and the first and second were being kidded along (in Laureldean gales case being pushed) quite a way out so the pace must have been good.

But, I just think saoirse abu is one of those unfashionable ugly winners with her headgear. In a fight though i’d have her on my side every time.. If the prices were a lot closer i’d be more torn. However, I like the way Bolger’s filly sticks her head down and gets on with it..

DJ, I’ve already seen the Proviso race, and admittedly she was impressive. But what in that race places her head & shoulders above SA?

Interested as to how you read it.

Im with DJ here. Not sure that the phoenix form amounts to much now given Henrythenavigators subsequent defeat. That has been put down to the ground of course (i am not sure whether this was from connections or losing punters ), but then, why run him on the same again?

With two year old races at this time of the season, there is still the element of judging potential of course, so doesnt concern me that SA has won 2more group ones". In fact…could be argued..shes been raced pretty hard

What is Fabre’s record in these top juvenile races over here? Pretty good i would guess

Potential v Proven ability, Clive – which do you bet on? ;)

Tomorrow, i’ll be in the former camp, as I think Godolphin may take the Royal Lodge with colt of immense potential, Emmrooz.

Btw, it wouldn’t surprise me if Godolphin won at least 3 of the remaining 2 year old group races in Britain and France.

Could be a French fillies double at the weekend.

Me too, prefer her to Proviso, listen or Kotsi, although I was wondering if I should back Kotsi Instead but nah, Saoirse Abu is the one ;) She will have the ground in her favour too as well as the form

Have a nasty feeling that Emmrooz won’t stay the mile in that ground.
