This will surprise a few,but i am not backing either 2 of my favourite horses in tomorrows Melling chase!I have said all year that Forpadydeplasterer should have been campaigned over 21/2m and that the Ryanair would have suited perfectly!Having Backed Albertas Run at all prices down from 90"s,he owes me nothing,so i have given every horse my unbiased 10 point tester and
Poquelin
comes out 10 out of 10! I have had £100 e/w at 6/1 with the Tote. Deep Purple comes out with 9 out of 10,so i have had £20 at 10"s on the machine! Jack the Giant got 7 out of 10,so at 20/1 i have had a £10 e/w saver! For the record Forpady,Albertas,Kalahari and the big Grey all got 8 out of 10.which would say "Anything could win it"!I just have a feeling about this one,we shall see!

April 8, 2010 at 21:02 #288704I have always had a soft spot for
Battlecry
since he split Big Bucks and Albertas run here 2 years ago off a mark of 144,he now races off a mark of 132.I have had a tenner e/w at 20/1 with William Hill for tomorrows race over the National fences!

Priceless! 2 of my favourite horses,1st and 2nd! All i can say is, as soon as Poquelin was beaten, which was very early on,i cheered Albertas home, what a horse!
April 9, 2010 at 20:49 #289039I have bet
Tataniano
at 6"s on the machine to £20 and
Celestial Halo
at 6"s to £20 also at Aintree tomorrow! Hopefully Andy Stewart will have something to cheer about after Poquelins No show!

I always thought
Tataniano
was the danger to Somersby in this years Arkle! Great to see him back to his best, unfortunately i got 4"s due to a Non runner!
Celestial Halo
was just winding it up when he fell,it would have been very close!Thats racing!
-£408April 10, 2010 at 14:08 #289240Andy Stewarts horses are running well today,so i have had £10 at 50"s and £10 at 10"s to place on
My Will
in the Grand National!
-£428 Loser £20
April 13, 2010 at 20:01 #290136This weeks National heads North to Ayr and i have backed 2 horses who have both been placed in the past,
Halcon Genelardais
, £10 e/w at 20/1 with Corals and
Gone to lunch
, £15 e/w at 14/1 with Bet 365.I hope both turn up as both horses have come down the handicap!
-£478 Winner £67
April 13, 2010 at 20:15 #290142Another wager on a horse i have high expectations of,this time in the Derby.
Workforce
, £20 on at 20"s on Betfair and £25 e/w at 16/1 with the Tote, if he does miss the 2000gns he will be aimed for the Dante, which would suggest a Derby preperation,i noticed even though connections initially said he wouldn"t get an entry,a change of mind has been triggered by something,i can only guess he"s working well at home!

April 14, 2010 at 19:41 #290296I rate
Evens and odds
highly,it would be a lot to ask of him to emulate his owners stable companion Regal Parade but the pair are very similar in physique and style of running!Evens and Odds clocked a very impressive time over tomorrows course and distance last spring in 1m 9 secs, admittedly it was only a handicap but the race showed this fellow is improving! Interestingly it was Tax free that won last years Abernant from the dissapointing Equiano, the clock showed the race again was run on good fast ground as was Evens and Odds and their time of 1m 10secs just confirms the impression "Evens" left on me! I have had a £30 win at 6/1 with Paddy Power!

Gone to lunch
ran much the same race as last year and is very one paced but at least he ran a place!
-£511April 17, 2010 at 19:15 #290860This years 2000gns is fast becoming a bookies benefit and i have contributed my share on
Workforce
.Today both Canford Cliffs and Arcano failed to encourage their supporters and if Elusive Pimpernel is a Guineas Winner then i"m his brother Scarlet!
April 20, 2010 at 11:49 #291315The Loyalty card is being played today,
Forpadydeplasterer
has now finished 2nd on 5 successive occassions, where as Sizing Europe has finished 1st on his last 5 runs!Today i have had £110 win on Forpady at 10/11 to be placed only,i think with the ground in his favour,he will reverse Sandown form with Twist Magic and there is not much between himself and Kalahari King anyway!Had the ground come up Soft i would have had a good bet on Golden Silver, another with close ties to my selection. We shall see!
-£621 Placed winner £210
April 20, 2010 at 12:28 #291321I am convinced
Cooldine
has been trained with the Punchestown Gold Cup as his main target this season,i saw a bit more than a glimmer of hope in the Cheltenham Gold Cup as he travelled like a Rolls Royce for a long way, obviously Denman could run them ragged but so long as the ground stays on the faster side of Good,Cooldine will have too much speed for both Denman and the very talented Soft ground Joncol!I have had £50 e/w at 5/1 with Bet365.

We shall see alright!Mission accomplished in one respect, but i should have had at least a saver on at 16/1 on a horse i have had 2 good wins from this year!
Golden Silver
certainly looks Champion Chase material now,16/1 looks generous!

-£511April 20, 2010 at 20:10 #291383I’m a big Golden Silver fan aswell TAPK, but I think he’s just not a Cheltenham horse. Ywice now he’s beaten Forpadydeplasterer in Irish Grade 1s and twice he has failed to get anywhere near him at Cheltenham.
April 20, 2010 at 20:54 #291391True thm but, Golden Silver has improved a ton in the last month alone, which is surprising for a horse who has ran 42 times in his career. As an 8yo i would give him the benefit of the doubt and will be interested what connections decide to do regarding the Champion Chase!
