Ollie…. you are getting confused I think…. if your talking about Daz’s selection method (the Majestic System), if there are two at the same forecast price in the SAME race, the first mentioned will be Daz’s selection……..
If your talking of my amendment to just back the longer forecast price of his selections, two selections at the same price would be a no bet……
Nobody has followed this amendment as yet cos I hadn’t mentioned it to anyone, not even Daz. It was just something that I felt comfortable with and gave it a go on my own, I don’t want any members to lose money on one of my whims. It would be best if you just followed it on paper for a month to see if you feel happy with it, if you feel its crap, or the losing runs pee you off, then you’ve lost nothing. If you like it, it’ll still be there next month and for months after that….. there’s no hurry…….

January 7, 2004 at 23:25 #46273Mr E,
Yes I was referring to daz’s system when I asked what if there are 2 at the same price, thanks for explaining it’s the first named.
I do intend to monitor and paper trade, rather than plunge in, but looking back through the thread the results are encouraging and you seem to have had a beer or two out of it!
All the best
Ollie
PS I think using the RP the E selection would be Limerick Leader

January 8, 2004 at 16:46 #46284Fine effort today guys 2 winners and a third of eighteen.
I know people will point to the prices but first job is to get them home in front, prices you can do little about.
This seems to be standing the test of time Daz – well done.
January 8, 2004 at 18:38 #46286Absolutely Snowy, Daz’s system as you say did very well, winners at 4/7 and 4/5 and a respectable 3rd at 8/1 (hope Mr E backed for a place as well). having said I would paper trade, I did a little Trixie to small money, slight loss on the day, but alot of fun! We’ll wait for the SL Online for tomorrow’s selections.
Well done Daz

Firstly I have been following your system on and off for about 6 months now and I must stay that it is a work of pure genius! Especially given that as relative novice (started serious punting from Aug03), your system puts my selections methods (based on time honoured form study) to complete shame… :o
Anyway a question on the selection of the principle meeting.. A look at the prize money on offer for the 9th Jan meetings (source teletext racing site)
Wolverhampton £30,125 total prize money
Ludlow £29258 total prize money..
However Ludlow was selected as the principle meeting of the day..
Have I got it wrong and could you confirm your method for selecting the principle meeting
Cheers

January 10, 2004 at 10:53 #46292Rudeboy…… if you can get Daz to toe the line, your a better man than me, I’ve been fighting with him for two years now but I think he’s got a bit of wax in his ears….. hahahaha…… he’s even admitted getting it wrong at times (see Daz’s Jan 7th posting), but he’s such a jammy bugger that he gets away with it by pulling out a couple of winners……. the trouble is that I think he’s lost a couple of wheels off his calculator, either that or he’s got Matron to do his adding up, and we all know what Matrons like after he’s been at the gin…….. hehehe…..

January 10, 2004 at 11:05 #46293hi daz,
ive been trying to work out the selections with no luck
please help
today y are
bal de nuit and cloudy grey not the selections
also why was there not a selection in the seller yesterday
cheers
carl
January 11, 2004 at 21:46 #46294Selections for monday 12th jan 2004.
Bank at 5.89 after a non productive day on saturday.
FONTWELL.
1.00 Narwhal # 1 point win.
2.00 Willie John Daly 1 point win.
Carl
I no the orignal system was based on using the sun but my selections are based on using the sporting life web page i think thats where all the confusion is coming from.
Hope this helps.
Rudeboy.
The system is based on using the highest prize money meeting of the day which in fact should have been wolverhampton, but the post and life did not have it down as as there main meeting of the day.
Imust assume that n-hunt racing takes prefrence over the flat.
Sometimes im prone to make mistakes so youll have to keep a close eye on me, the meetings for selection are the one with the highest prize money on offer from now on. Hope this clears up a few things, alot is down to error on my part.
Please find below the rules in full for the majestic system as it stands and as it is being used now.
THE MAJESTIC SYSTEM .
rules as follwows
1 Use the sporting life web sight for selection.
2.The highest prize money on offer denotes the meeting to be used for selection.
3. Horses placed 1st 2nd 3rd last time out current season only.
4. 2/1 or more in the betting forcast.
5. The orignal system asked for selections to be a distance winner but this as proved not to be nessesary. So selections can be a distance winner or not.
Hope this helps.
Daz.:)

January 11, 2004 at 22:44 #46295Daz,
Many thanks for posting. I couldn’t find forecast prices on the SL site this evening, did you find any? If not I wondered whether you had used the RP forecast just for today, if so Diamond Merchant in the 3.30 (The Bumper)would seem to qualify as well?
Ollie
January 12, 2004 at 21:33 #46296Hi Ollie.
