I checked out Daz’s system today and one of the selections is….
3.45 Newb.. Ungaro…. LOST…
the only reason that I brought it to the top is that I think that because of the 12/1 offered by Betfair, makes this a fair E/W bet…… I cannot see Mary Reveley sending this horse all the way down to Newbury (nearly 300 mile round trip) if she doesn’t fancy her chances of collecting the 7.6K prize money, a place will surely make the journey worth while…… just a thought…..

I really must stop all this thinking, it taxes the old grey matter too much, taint as though I come up with a winner….. hehehe….. I’d have been grateful if it had finished in the first 30…….

January 7, 2004 at 19:59 #46266Daz,
Well done! Two nice winners @7/2 and 13/8 told you I’d keep an eye on your selections!
Just a small point at one stage you suggested using only distance winners as a filter, but it seems that you now favour including all selections even if not D winners?
Also if it’s not too much trouble could you indicate the horse with the E factor (Mr E of course!) ie of those identified by the system, which are also distance winners, is the highest forecast price in the Sun. Perhaps this selection could be marked with an asterisk?
Keep posting and good luck!
Ollie

January 7, 2004 at 20:22 #46267Actually having re-read Mr E’s thread it seems that he uses the RP not the Sun. Mr E old mate just to check your modification to the method, do u use the RP to make your selection shortlist using Daz’s criteria as well as using it to identify the one which has the biggest price?
Sorry to keep harping on, but I’m genuinely fascinated!
Ollie
January 7, 2004 at 20:39 #46268Ollie…. I think you’ll now find that Daz uses the Sporting Life Online to reach his selections, I do exactly the same. Sometimes we differ on what should be the Principal Meeting but we normally agree that its the meeting with the most total prize money….. I think that there are occasions when Daz has over indulged in the alcohol stakes so on the rare day there is a disagreement on meeting. If this happens I always choose the meeting that Daz calls, cos he’s a jammy git……. only when I have these selections do I compare forecast prices with the RP…. I haven’t been doing it lately but if I’ve got time, I’ll start tomorrow…… keep it going Daz, its going OK mate…..

January 7, 2004 at 22:21 #46269Mr E,
Many thanks for clarifying which paper Daz uses, I’ve just spent the past 30 minutes going through the 24 pages of the thread! I know sad isn’t it!
Using SL online Wincanton is clearly the meeting with the biggest prize money. I think the selections would be
1.00 This is your Life *E factor
1.30 Kerballec
In the 2.30 there are joint favs at 9/2 which both seem to fit the criteria Limerick Leader and Material World
how is a selection arrived at in this case?
I stress these are not the "official" system selections, but my attempt at applying the rules, obviously need expert clarification!
Cheers and roll on tomorrow!
January 7, 2004 at 22:29 #46270Hi ollie.

Hope this will help you.
Two very nice winners today at 7/2 13/8 even though i got the meetings totally wrong it should have been mussleburgh, but whos complaining.Bank now stands at 9.52 + profit:cheesy:

January 7, 2004 at 22:45 #46271Daz,
Many thanks, most helpful.
interestingly the forecast prices I saw on the Sportinglife online must have been the early forecast, as they have changed the forecast now!
I now have identified the same selections as you!
many thanks for the indicator and E factor marks.
If there are 2 qualifiers on the system at the same price presumably that’s no selection rather than both?
As I said before it will be interesting to see how they fair tomorrow.
good luck
Ollie
