Small but interesting field for this GR1 event with sole English raider Major Cadeaux up against Sageburg, Tamayuz and Natagora. How he gets on will shed some light on HTN versus Tamayuz who looks the pick of the French milers.
August 17, 2008 at 03:26 #177182I appreciate Sageburg but I have preference to a straight-out soft rather than good-to-soft.
Haven’t dissected the field yet, but Tamayuz could not beat Natagora, Sageburg and maybe Major Cadeaux for toe if they set a pedestrian walk.

Intresting jockey booking on Natagora?

Pacemaker+ front runners should gaurantee anything but a pedestrian walk!
The going looked quite holding yesterday, some horses where going through it but others where stopping as though shot
My price in brackets
SAGEBURG (11-4) His he a true miler?,surely better at 10f in my opinion, all the same a serious horse who should run his race, thereabouts!
RACINGER (10-1) Likes to get on with it so he will probably take up the running when the pacemaker gives way, first run could see him grab a place, stable 2nd string but not a lot to find and FH could run the stable cat at the moment and it would probably win!
RUNAWAY (100-1) Not the horse he was!
MAJOR CADEAUX (9-1) only UK rep, probably better at 7f but very decent on his day, race could be run to suit so he has a chance of running into a place!
SINDAJAR (20-1) Pacemaker who won`t be allowed to get away !!
TAMAYUZ (11-10), that man again (F Head), some domesday followers say he was flattered last time,i say bollocks!!, he won pulling the proverbial cart, that was very impressive,no reason to think it was a one off, horse can be ridden on or off the pace so we have the best of both worlds……………….Paddy Powers 2-1 should be taken!
ARCADIAS ANGEL (16-1) Improved steadily before disappointing lto, maybe thats as good as he his, however, certainly no mug so lets not treat him as one!
NATAGORA (6-1) Would be my lay in the race, shame theirs no liquidity on the Betfair markets, what you saw lto is what she is,half decent and nothing more, winning the 1000gns suggested she was better than she is,had the run of the race there, forms not working out and latest 2.5L third puts everything in perspective!
10 points to play with
9 Win TAMAYUZ at 2-1 (Paddy Power)
1pt Couple place Racinger/Tamayuz!

Good write ups mate, but if these prices (in brackets) are the chances you believe each horse has. Shouldn’t you work it out to 100%, not 119.4%?

Value Is EverythingAugust 17, 2008 at 18:14 #177230Mark, I price up to a Bookmakers margin , the clever ones can work back from that
these are not the prices i would neccessarily take, thats why i make my suggestion at the end!Naja………just my method
August 17, 2008 at 20:05 #177237Good performance and on a line through Major Cadeaux and Raven’s pass there isn’t a lot between Tamayuz and Henry..
Both like fast pace races and given good ground should make for a great race. Hopefully the ground stays good for the QEII as they both look like heading there.
August 17, 2008 at 20:23 #177240That’s how to use a pacemaker. Bonilla rode them to sleep on the winner.
August 18, 2008 at 10:52 #177274The winner is top class and won this easily. Strictly on the form lines with Ravens’ Pass & Major Cadeaux he is superior to HTN. He has yet to run on anything quicker than good and HTN doesn’t like it slower than good so lets hope they clash in the QEII on good ground.
