Surprisingly there is some betting for the Prix Ganay.

Usually the betting for French Races is thin on the ground but probably because Cracksman is due to kick his season off there, PaddyPower have some odds available.

Only four runners are quoted for now and the book reads:-

    Cracksman 10/11
    Cloth Of Stars 10/3
    Rhododendron 9/2
    Hawkbill 16/1

It’s unlikely Cracksman will be much of a price on the day but is 10/11 too skinny?

Cloth Of Stars is 10/3 in this but can be backed for the Sheema Classic a week tomorrow at 3/1, with no Cracksman in the race. Surely that’s much better value than the Ganay odds?

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

    I’d say so
He had a run a few weeks back so the cobwebs have been blown away
although Hawkbill at 10’s could be interesting opposition

He would have to make his own running and could be a bit of a sitting duck in that scenario on his first run back (although if they were seriously thinking of a Meydan run he would probably be a lot further forward than normal).

Ground conditions could play a crucial part so I wonder what it will be like on the day at Lonchamp…oops sorry ParisLongchamp

There is a much more extensive betting list for the Ganay now:-

    Cracksman 10/11
    Cloth Of Stars 10/3
    Rhododendron 9/2
    Talismanic 6/1
    Air Pilot 14/1
    Garlingari 14/1
    Frontiersman 16/1
    Hawkbill 16/1
    Spotify 25/1

    These are PaddyPower’s odds.

John Gosden said that Enable is not going here because her campaign is being based totally on arriving at the Arc in peak form and so the Coronation Cup or Tattersalls are much more likely starting points for her.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
