2005 it rained at Longchamp all day, the ground was good to soft that day
Time comparison
2005 Labbaye 56.9
2007 Labbaye 56.72005 Bousac 97.3
2007 Bousac 97.02005 Lagardere 80.6
2007 Lagardere 81.52005 Opera 120.9
2007 Opera 123.5and Fallon says he’d rather be on SOF given the ground
hope that helps with your selections
Authorised – Class act but will need to settle better than York last time to get what should be a true gallop from the start, also got a bit warm and excited in the paddock last time (temprement?), first time travelling, first time right handed and not the greatest draw. Should still win but no price.
Dylan – Ground too soft
SOF – Classic overhyped OBrien horse IMO. If he was that good Wayne Lordan wouldnt have ridden him in the Derby and he’d never have been entered for the St Ledger. Irish Derby form worthless and has been put in here to cover the soft ground angle. Has the stamina but not the speed to win an Arc.
Zambezi – Classic quiet French preparation. Will be at his peak today. Not sure if good enough but 7/1 is a price worth chancing that the French have got it right again.
Mandesha – Give in the ground will probably knock the edge off her turn of foot, plus cheekpieces. Swerve.
Sagara the most interesting outsider but cant see it being good enough.
German form LTO has never sood up in the Arc and the rest simply aren’t good enough.
Zambezi Sun for me.
October 7, 2007 at 14:43 #118320See, jockeys are just the worst judges
October 7, 2007 at 14:44 #118321Authorized wasn’t just beaten, he was absolutely hammered.
Great run from Dylan Thomas.
October 7, 2007 at 14:44 #118322Right everyone get on Dylan Thomas
I hope he gets 5 years for that!
Steve
October 7, 2007 at 14:46 #118323Bizarre ride from Dettori though i have to say.
Usually i like people in the Arc to be up there, he was no where near the pace and left him with too much to do effectively.
Think Mr Fallon will be having a little ban too as Dylan Thomas hung right for most of the home straight and didnt even correct it until about 4 lengths before the finish line.
Very bizarre from Dettori though i have to say.
October 7, 2007 at 14:48 #118324Stewards inquiry into that KS –
October 7, 2007 at 14:48 #118325He’ll keep it, but get banned, hung well right and he did nothing to correct it.
October 7, 2007 at 14:52 #118326Is a stewards inquiry over there the same as if a jockey threw a protest in say 2/1 or 3/1 ?
Has the jockey protested?October 7, 2007 at 14:55 #118327As I type, Youmzain is 3.7 to get the race.
October 7, 2007 at 14:57 #118328The French love a bit of dramatisation don’t they!
October 7, 2007 at 14:57 #1183292.6 now .. and Sagara is being backed!
October 7, 2007 at 14:59 #118330The French love a bit of dramatisation don’t they!
Oh they do, they do
October 7, 2007 at 15:03 #118331The French love a bit of dramatisation don’t they!
Oh they do, they do
What are they doin?
October 7, 2007 at 15:03 #118332If someone else says that Dylan Thomas doesn’t want cut in the ground……
October 7, 2007 at 15:07 #118333LOL, Clint!
October 7, 2007 at 15:07 #118334The French love a bit of dramatisation don’t they!
Oh they do, they do
What are they doin?
They do love dramatisation
Will Hill radio commentators (it’s all I can get) think that Fallon was doing more or less everything he could and that he had the stick in the correct hand, but also that the French stewards have reversed a decision for far less I think they’re sitting on the fence
October 7, 2007 at 15:09 #118335Any other French race, the stewards would chuck DT out.
