5/4(BOG) isn’t exactly a great price but i took it for Stacelita. It looks like a poweful filly and all the right noises are being made.

Though I’m not a value punter, 5/4 seems hellishly short for a horse unproven on the likely ground.
Given a proper pace, I’d expect Fantasia to perform much better than she did in the Pouliches; and give the much maligned Fillie’s Mile form a better perspective than many cynics would have it.June 14, 2009 at 18:20 #233863WOW
The 5/4 on BF was very generous indeed. You don’t see many horses win G1s by six and then go off at that sort of number. What a filly. Should be a challenger for the Arc this yearJune 14, 2009 at 18:23 #233864A very, very good performance there by Stacelita.
Rouget’s hot streak continues with a 1-2.
Can he do it in England this week? We shall see!
June 14, 2009 at 18:36 #233865Wow she’s the best filly in Europe that was very impressive.
June 14, 2009 at 18:53 #233868Very pleasing on the eye. What a star !!!
June 14, 2009 at 19:27 #233871Wouldnt it be really something if she progressed into another Zarkava and won the Arc?
I’d love to be Rouget right now. He has the pick of about 5 or 6 top class 3yos this year
June 14, 2009 at 20:13 #233875Disagree strongly. Visually impressive, but the form is worth diddly squat. Le Havre’s beaten nothing and neither has Stacelita. This time last year Zarkava had beaten an Irish 1000 Guineas winner, a Prix Sandringham winner and a Listed winner. Look at what Stacelita beat in the Saint Alary. Between the 6 behind her, they’ve had 19 starts this season and just 4 wins, and 3 of those were courtesy of the horse who finished last.
Use Fantasia as the main formline and you’ll see what she’s been beating.
Same goes for Le Havre, don’t rate that form for toffee. Westphalia 3rd? No thanks.

If we went by everything we read on racing websites we’d all be emptying our bank accounts and be hammering into her.
Another Zarkva they are saying.
Well it was around this time I backed Zarkava last year for the arc at 7/1.
They make this filly the same price but I wouldn’t have 10p on here for the Arc.
She’s was visually impressive yes, but I have been very disappointed with the fillies this season.
She’s nothing like Zarkava she ran them into the ground here and there is no real prove any of the half decent horses stayed despite some of them closing down on her slightly near the finish. If finding another Zarkava was only that easy.
She has another 2 furlong to go in the Arc and depsite the fact some fillies do tend to improve more in the Autumn than the colts she’ll find it much tougher when she meets them.
There must be about zero chance of Sea the Stars running so if you take him out are these bookies trying to tell us she’s what? 4/1 fav? 3 points lower than Zarkava was at this stage.
With the likleyhood of soft geround When I see horses like Conduit at 12/1 Fame and Glory 12/1 and Casual Conquest and the improved Ask at 20.s and 25’s who all appreciate plenty cut I think I can see some cracking value Others like Youzmain and the half dozen or so the French will come up with is what she will have to cope with plus we haven’t seen what Ascot might throw into the melting pot
Nice filly but the Arc is a million miles away from that race today and she is no Zarkava IMO
June 14, 2009 at 22:02 #233896If anyone is interested in the time she is the fastest winner in years eased down if it comes up softish on Arc day she will be hard to beat.
Like how we get that this is not the next Zarkava, they race in two seperate ways anyway.
June 14, 2009 at 22:56 #233906If she gets the same weight allowance Zarkava got then the price is fair enough in my book. Have to disagree with you Fist ma old china. I’ll be on this filly and Conduit at current prices.
June 15, 2009 at 00:07 #233912If she gets the same weight allowance Zarkava got
If? She’s a three-year-old filly as was Zarkava. She gets the same weight-for-age and sex allowance.
June 15, 2009 at 00:48 #233923Fair enough. I just wasn’t taking it for granted that it’s the same allowance every year.

Won like a 1/4 shot – now you see why I’m not a value punter.
June 15, 2009 at 01:56 #233935Shes 8/1 not 4s
Arc is a million mles away for the colts too of whom only STS has come close to dominating in such a manner
She doesnt have to be a Zarakava. Virtually no other filly ive seen is
and recent arcs havent all been on soft ground….
It should take a special horse to win the arc of course and cant say that any of those you have listed as alternatives Fist look that way to me….at this stage anyway. but she certainly could be.
June 15, 2009 at 04:58 #233949Very nice.
Plumania trimmed 10-11 lengths off the Prix Saint-Alary deficit. Ana Americana bursted her bubble up the back so can’t accurately gauge her performance.
As for the Arc, I’m waiting and watching if J-C’s yard form holds up + the progress of all other contenders. She’s no Zarkava, that’s for sure.

That’s the problem with these races. Punters are forever forgetting that not all races are top class and whhen a good horse like this runs in a race such as that one yesterday yhey can look like superstars.
Wasn’t that long ago Fantasia was being hailed as having improved zillions and the bookies made her fav fav for our 1000 guineas.
We even had a debate on whether she should run in the UK or go to France. Many reckoning she had improved past Rainbow View.
We got the same cries of WOW then.
Clive you reckon none of those I put up are an alternative?
If there not then she’s past the post already

I have no idea whether SMS intends sending Conduit for the Arc or not but if he had met this filly yesterday in a race which would have started fav?
Conduit has already done what they are only dreaming about doing and that is to have won one of the worlds richest races.
There is little doubt this filly will ride on the back of Zarkava and the fact she, a 3 year old filly. won the Arc. As a result she will probably kick off at a totally false price as she is now.
When you look at some fillies who have tried to win this like Ouija Board
e.g it makes you realize that Zarkava’s don’t grow on trees.Ouija Board was a brilliant filly but even she found taking on colts was a different ball game.
